Poured clear amber with tiny white head. Soft carbonation. Sweet malt and fresh fruit (plum) aromas. Full-bodied ale that starts with moderate sweetness and caramel/spicy/fruity (ripe plum) flavors. Finished with light malt fade and hop bitterness. Smooth and rich. Intense complex flavor character. Alcohol well hidden in this more-ish beer. An exquisite ale. 505 (271), Echo Park, California, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 13, 2006 I loved this beer. Pours a dark brown, relatively clear, although dark. Not much head though. Aroma was malty, dried fruits. Flavor is very complex, yet very well balanced. A lot going on, but nothing overwhelming. Hid alcohol well. Nice work. patrick767 (2051), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 12, 2006 bottle - Pours crystal clear, says the commercial description? hah... no, I poured slowly and there was no way this ale was going to come out crystal clear. Pours a murky brown with a thin head, almost nonexistent head. It has a very pleasant, assertive aroma of yeast, malt, and dark fruit. It tastes very sweet. There’s plenty of malts and candi sugar in there. The yeast comes through as well as some mild dark fruit notes. The high abv is masked by the sweetness. I wouldn’t have known it was 10% if I hadn’t read the bottle first. The finish is smooth and dry. This is another high quality ale from Alesmith. elektronikfagtekniker (892), kbh, Denmark

Aroma of vanilla, brown sugar and sweet plum. Layers of flavor. Surprisingly pleasant and intriguing on the palate. It is worth seeking out since it is not easy to find.
