Dec 20, 2007 Bottle. [Another great tasting session @ Papsoe] Average creamy off-white head that mostly lasted. Cloudy golden color with particles in flow. Fair display of lacework. Lovely aroma of mixed fruit. Apricot, sweet orange. Light elderflower, citrus, sweet spicy feel. Over the palate what felt like honey melon and hint of sweet floral notes. Medium bodied with a hint of alcoholic texture and a soft carbonation. Moderated sweet flavor with light acidic and bitterness. Lovely sweet fruity and herbal finish that lingers. 7 / 3 / 7 / 3 / 15

Dec 18, 2007 A Belgian strong that is probably better described as a wit, no matter how high the abv. Abundant coriander and wheat in the aroma. Flavor is sweet and has all of the qualities of a wit, coriander, citrus, kind of an herbal character almost like a gruit. Some sugar in the flavor as well, on the sweet side and the high abv is hidden well. Thanks to Skyview for sharing.

Dec 17, 2007 I’ve got three bottles of this in recent trades, so I’ll just say that this one comes from the RateBeer collective. Pleasant sweet and spicy aroma. Coriander, sweet grapes, cut flowers with a definite spicy and dry yeast presence. Pours murky hazy gold with little bits of particulate suspended in the beer. Medium to full bodied and quite mouth filling, but the carbonation is not so overbearing that it distracts from the beer. Green apples, Concord Grapes, orange zest, spicy yeast, coriander and honey. Sweet, but not cloying. Dry, but not palate cleansing. Balanced.

Dec 17, 2007 750ml bottle. 2006. Heavily sweet to the point of being less than enjoyable. Fizzy, white head that diminishes. Body is medium yellow. The aroma is sweet with sugar candy, apples and sweet fruits with a note of flowers. The flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic and lightly bitter. Thin to medium body, watery texture. Flat carbonation.

Dec 13, 2007 Another goodie brought back by Skyview! Hazy yellow color with a small head. Just a pile of coriander in the aroma. A little bit of floral and citrus. The taste goes much the same way, starting with a coriander smoothie. Fruit and citrus abound. Very nice, though I confused this for a Wit while drinking it.

Dec 13, 2007 Picked up a 22-oz bomber at Sun Devil Liquors in Phoenix. Pours a semi hazy dark golden brew with a thick off-white head that has some excellent retention and lacing. Aroma of light golden malt, fruity, strong coriander, cotton candy and some candi sugar. Taste is quite sweet, medium bodied, light carbonation with flavors of fruity malt, oranges, coriander, a touch of brown sugar and just a hint of Belgian yeast. Finish is smooth, quite sweet with a decent fruity and coriander aftertaste.

Nov 24, 2007 750ml bottle, 2006 version: Deep gold pour with no head. Sweet honey, caramel and butterscotch aroma. The body is just bursting with white sugar sweetness. Sweet dough, caramel, toffee and cane sugar. From start to finish, this is sugar.

Nov 18, 2007 This one was bought in Ohio and aged 6 months. I guess I don’t really understand what Belgian Strong ale is, as I was expecting something darker. Very pale with a nice white head - very bubbly, small bubbles. Nose is very nice - oranges, brown sugar, dates and sour notes. Sour palate, dough, nice mouthfeel, smooth, warm, not very hoppy.
