Apple with hint of citrus aroma. Sweet and malty flavor with very little carbonation, there is some warmth from the alcohol. glkaiser (1171), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 25, 2006 Cloudy golden. Small head. Sour apple sweet aroma. This is a very sweet and malty beer. Taste reminds me of sparkling grape juice...with lots of alcohol. Lots of fruit going on here. Definitely enjoyable; not what I was expecting though. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 22, 2006 Pours a dirty blonde leaving a very thin white lace. The aroma is honey, cloves, super sweet "natural honey candy" is what comes to mind. The taste mirrors the nose, very sweet, the alcohal is faint well hidden masking the 11% but warming. As this beer warms a bit candied orange, peach, and caramel all come to mind. The finish is smooth and lite, one that you need to sip and enjoy slowly.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 21, 2006 Updated: Mar 22, 2007my friend swirled the yeast and added it to my glass. made it look pretty (somehow less chunks). another bottle was served at the same time - an aged one - that had a ton more alcohol flavor. mine was slightly funky with a pretty good amount of belgian sweet yeast, but it wasn’t as cotton candy as usual. in my glass there was no alcohol at all. rerate: had on draft at the brewery. incredible. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 17, 2006 On tap 6/7 @ the Brewery: Pours a golden color with an off-white head. Aroma is fruity and yeasty in the Belgium tradition. Flavor is very complex and mostly yeasty leaving a dry finish. Delicious! DYCSoccer17 (2192), Davis, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 17, 2006 Bottle purchased March 2005 at the brewery. Consumed 15 months later. Sweet, candy-sugary like malts in the nose, which compete with lots of spiciness and coriander. Citric oranginess also makes a cameo appearance. Some ethanol is detected retronasally. Mildly hazy copper-golden color with a smallish off-white head and fair lacing. Sweet aroma initially, turning very peppery and spiced. Lots of coriander spicing and orange notes. There is some booziness that follows with some dry, spiced noble hoppiness in the finish. I’d classify this as an Imperial Wit Beer. Not sure if that was the goal or not, but it seems to work. This beer is not as sweet as the fresh sample I tasted at the brewery 15 months ago... beervana (781), Libertyville, Illinois, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jun 17, 2006 4.5 18 (05.12.06) One pint, 9.4 oz green bottle from Liquorama. 11 %ABV. No freshness info on label. Poured clear orange with small white head. Soft carbonation. Sweet malt and spicy coriander aroma. Full bodied ale that starts with light malt sweetness and fresh fruit (apricot or peach), spice (coriander) flavors. Finished with light malt fade and lingering hop bitterness. Lush, smooth and well-balanced, alcohol is dangerously well-hidden in this flavorful moreish beer despite the high ABV. An exquisite ale, one of my favorite Alesmith beers.
