sfontain (502), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jun 21, 2008 Cellared for about 15 months. Lovely orange color; slightly murky (particularly the last third of the bottle); very little head. Aroma citrus, yeast, and spices. Flavor sweet and yeasty with light spiciness; less sweet and flavorful than expected, and hoppier than expected; a touch sour; sweet and bitter finish; not as complex as hoped. Medium-thick body; lightly sticky. Not in the top echelon of beers, but solid and memorable.
nbutler11 (305), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Dec 3, 2008 Enjoyed this on tap at the brewery. A creamier version of Lil Devil with a higher presence of alcohol. Agressive, but a bit mild for my taste. DuffMan (2139), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Dec 2, 2008 On tap at The Neighborhood in San Diego. Slightly hazy light amber, low off-white head. Boozy toffee and honey aroma, subtle spiciness. Sweet liquory toffee, an orange brandy essence, very smooth and warming. Sweet through the finish. GMCC2181 (504), Bear, Delaware, USA Nov 27, 2008 Bottle shared by wolf. Light yellow in color followed by a nice head. Aroma of orange peels and some sweet candy. Taste has a just the right amount of blended spice, orange/coriander, and candy. Super smooth as all Alesmith beers are. Creamy light texture, dry, but easy to drink. I would of never guessed this beer to be even close to ten percent alcohol...Overall a great beer. Thanks again wolf! slimchill (694), Austin, Texas, USA Nov 27, 2008 Bottle. Piercing spicy-sour nose, buttery yeast underneath. Clear gold-amber with thin patchy head and nice lacing. Flavor is buttery and spicy. Very smooth yeasty sweet. Creamy palate, cherry and strawberry notes. Exceedingly smooth example of the style, reminiscent of a Duvel but especially clean. Top notch. fonefan (5547), Ulfborg, Denmark Nov 20, 2008 Bottle 75cl.
Unclear medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head.
