Hazy golden color with yeast particles, white head. Malty, lactic, alcohol scent, a bit fruity as well. Cream, lactic, apple, alcohol taste. Alcohol and apple aftertaste. Medium to moussy mouthfeel, also salty. Low bitterness.

Nov 25, 2009 750-ml bottle NapaCabs.com - Aroma: sweet, fruity with lemon-, apricot-, orange-, banana-, pear-like, spiciness (coriander, yeast / hops), alcohol; Appearance: clear golden, opaque, white head fades quickly as well as the laces; Flavor: fruity with orange-, pear-, apricot-like (coriander, yeast / hop), sweet, salty, malty (malt), spicy (yeast / hop), bitter (hop), dry finish; Mouthfeel: moderate to high carbonation; medium body, alcohol; Overall: a beautiful colored beer with a tasty balanced complexity of aroma and flavor of fruit, malt, bitter, and smooth alcohol (definitely needed). I think it would go nicely great with a roasted / smoked chicken or even better a chicken stew and rice or chicken pot pie.

Nov 24, 2009 The Dan Journal #308. Tasted 10/3/09. 750ml bottle. Hazy with a bright golden hue. Finger width of white pillowy head. Bright and medium to full bodied. Totally citrus candy. Marshmallows and tart and tangy citrus yeast flavors. Relatively smooth. Great yeast character.

Nov 14, 2009 Pours a hazy apricot-orange with a large egg-white head. Aroma is somewhat spicy and the coriander is more than apparent. Other fruits like peach come and go in the aroma. Boom!: This flavor is fucking complex and profound! At first you think its just a hop bomb, which it is, but then materialize all kinds of other flavors in the middle and end; spice, lots of orange fruits, a little astringent that isn’t bad, flower flavors, subdued yeast, then a bitter, dry finish. My upper half shivers then warms with every sip. Acidic, bitter, and warm all at the same time. Very nice unique opus here from Alesmith. Like a super-hopped, super-spiced tripel, with a little advanced alien technology? Medium viscosity, agressively bubbly. Overall, world class minus. Thanks, AleSmith.

Nov 4, 2009 (bottle - 750 ml) Hazy amber pour with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is loaded with bread malts and mild yeast along with some light spice. Flavor is smooth and sweet at the front with a nice bready middle. Some light spice with a lot of yeast near the middle. High quality beer.

Nov 2, 2009 750ml bottle from K&L Redwood City. Pours hazy golden with a large foamy white head that lasts. Aroma is bready pale malt and Belgian yeast along with citrus and coriander with other spice. Flavor is bready malt, yeast, candi sugar, light fruits, slightly tart citrus, and loads of coriander and spice. Complex with just a hint of alcohol. This bottle was from early 2009 and I think this would get even better with more age. Body is medium and palate is lively with lots of spice. Overall another great one from AleSmith. Peter Zien just kills it every time, it’s almost ridiculous.

Poured into a tulip this beer produced a nice orange haze with a 3 finger white head. It smells of citrus and lemon. The taste is pretty complex. At first you get the lemon presence and then it melds into the malt and sugar to form a nice crisp finish. The carbonation is perfect for this type of beer. I could not detect any alcohol while drinking this so be weary when you open one by yourself. I could see this one aging wonderfully if kept in the right conditions. Wonderful beer and highly recommended!

Oct 28, 2009 Aroma is sweet and full of grassy yeast along with oranges and lemon peel. Cloudy golden orange pour producing a 3/4" head and calm lacing. Spritzy feel that is surprisingly smooth, sweet and medium bodied with a touch of the booze in the aftertaste. Well blended flavors of fruity oranges and lemon with a touch of banana mixed with musty yeast, candi sugar, biscuits and grass.
