750ml bottle from K&L Redwood City. Pours hazy golden with a large foamy white head that lasts. Aroma is bready pale malt and Belgian yeast along with citrus and coriander with other spice. Flavor is bready malt, yeast, candi sugar, light fruits, slightly tart citrus, and loads of coriander and spice. Complex with just a hint of alcohol. This bottle was from early 2009 and I think this would get even better with more age. Body is medium and palate is lively with lots of spice. Overall another great one from AleSmith. Peter Zien just kills it every time, it’s almost ridiculous.

Dec 19, 2009 Bottle. Poured a light caramel with a thin off white head. Big fruity peachy apricoty and belgian yeast nose. Very lively in the carbonation department, champagne like. Some bready notes, but lots of fruit, apricot stands out to me the most. Full bodied and smooth, this ends with a bitter sweet finish. Nice american version of the style.

Dec 19, 2009 I have been wanting to try this for so long. And I have no idea why it took so long. Very sweet up front, malts, bread, some citrus. Then has a peppery finish. Very nice. Ale Smith rarely disappoints.

Dec 12, 2009 Slightly hazy golden with a small, fading head. Aroma is "homebrewish", with sourish, pale malt, and not very well hidden alcohol. Flavor is also sourish, pale-malty, slightly stingy-alcoholic and pear-fruity. Medium body, fizzy carbonation with alcohol burning. A cheap, unclean and alcoholic Duvel clone, not at the level of most beers from this brewery.

Dec 11, 2009 Pour was clear, pale yellow with a bright white, coating head. Carbonation all OVER the place. Aroma was great but in an easy mac and pepper kind of way, I have no idea where that came from. The flavor was similar to an IPA but more banana, orange and a little spice. Super refreshing. The abv on these things always takes me by surprise in a great way.

Dec 10, 2009 bottle thanks to bockeyhorsey. thanks again bill!! poured clear gold with a white head. aroma was citrus, coriander, and buttery. flavor was lemon citrus, coriander, and vanilla. light-medium body with high carbonation. excellent beer. would love to have another.

Dec 6, 2009 (Bottle at Pikkulintu) Poured yellow and hazy with medium sized white head. Aroma was sweet, fruity and yeasty. Palate was medium bodied and sticky with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, honey, fruitiness, sweetness, light sourness, coriander, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste was very sweet and lightly bitter. Flawless beer with interesting bits but too sweet for my taste.

Hazy orange color, small white head. Grapefruity, citrusy, fruity aroma. Fruity (lemon, grapefruit), hoppy and with some alcohol. Sweetish version of "Duvel-copy". Long grapefruit fruity aftertaste. Decent "Belgian strong ale".

Dec 4, 2009 Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Pours a deep gold with white fizzy head. Aroma is funky lemon, some caramel, orange, apple, some farmhouse. Flavor is light red apple, slight funk, nice light spiciness. Mouth feel is medium body with medium fizzy carbonation. Overall, VERY tasty stuff!
