HogTownHarry (3200), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Aug 25, 2005 Updated: Mar 19, 2006 Bottle (650ml) - Shared with blankboy, GregClow, jerc and tupalev - courtesy of yours truly. Slightly hazy maber-gold pour, big off-white rocky head. Aroma is spruce-pine resiny freshfreshfresh hops, lso lemon zest, some sweet malt and fresh cream, some fruit. Taste - high, fresh hops - different kinds, including cascade - enough malt for some balancing sweetness, plenty of piney-resiny-citrus too - very smooth, with a long but not harsh fresh hoppy finish. Mouthfeel is tingly - all those hops! - lively and a little astringent - finishes longer as it warms, but still smooth. In a word: "great" - and I’m not a hop-head.
mar (583), Dallas, Texas, USA Sep 6, 2008 bottle thanks to mashmaster. dark gold amber pour with a thick cream head. smooth citrus hop scent along with floral notes in the background. wow, not overly hoppy and not bitter at all. I heard this was a good IPA but this is freakin awesome. easy on the palate and nice on the way down. BelgianBeerGal (902), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Sep 6, 2008 Poured from 75cl bottle at Alesmith dinner. Phenomenal IPA plain and simple. Not overly hopped where it covers evertyhing else. Amazing balance between citrus, piney bitterness and just enough malt. Best IPA I’ve tried so far and I’m not even a huge IPA fan. Bigmmartin (208), Dayton, Ohio, USA Aug 31, 2008 Bottle. Strong citrus hop aroma with malt. Flavor is the same...hoppy with a big malt backbone. But not overly malty like some IIPAs....just enough to balance. Citrus hops throughout. A wonderful IPA. chrisafari (84), Orange, California, USA Aug 30, 2008 Aroma is hoppy with fresh pine and orange citrus. Pours amber orange with rocky off-white head. Flavor begins with nice citrus/pine and finishes with a nice dry hoppy throat. There is a nice balance between the hops and the malt (for an IPA). Nice finish of toasty and carmel malt. A very good American IPA. dalekliz (163), San Diego, California, USA Aug 29, 2008 On tap at the brewery for RBSG 08. Pours a clear gold with a nice, white head. Big aroma of citrus and pine hops. Crisp, clear taste with a lot of hops. Lingering hoppy bitterness. Really great IPA.
