Commercial Description:
AleSmith IPA used to be known as "Irie Pirate Ale." However, some nasty patent attorneys think the name is too similar to another brand, so we had to "cease and desist." It's a darn shame, but it beats an obnoxious legal battle, in both expenses and Excedrin. Don't worry though, we won't change the beer (which is a MUCH better IPA than that "other" brand). It was conceived as an American-style IPA to satisfy the yearnings of the most die-hard hopheads. Its high alcohol content may catch you unawares if you're not careful, but it's hard to resist once you've tasted it. Appearance: Deep golden to light amber color, and a nice beige head, with good retention when properly served. Flavor: Starts off with strong citrusy, resiny flavors, balanced by a nice malty sweetness, then fades to a dry finish with a lingering hoppiness and a faint hint of plums and black cherries. Aroma: Strong piney-citrusy character, with vanilla in the background. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Smooth, medium-bodied. Feels warm in the mouth from the alcohol.

This is very tasty. Nice lush mouthfeel - moreso than your average IPA. Pours orange hue with soft frothy head. Aroma is the expected pine, floral, citrus. Taste really flavorful blend of strong hops and malt for a solid IPA.

Cream color head. Pours cloudy with sediment. Complex, deep aroma, citrus and pine. Bitter, light body. Soft carbonation, almost watery. Overall: I don’t like over-hopped beers, so this was very drinkable.

Bomber. Pours a glowing slightly hazy orange with much sediment and a thick rocky off white head. Aroma is very fresh and citric, nice hop oils, juicy fruits, mango, pineapple, grapefruit all well balanced with very sweet caramel. Flavor starts with a quick hop bite and stays zesty and hoppy throughout, very fresh tasting along with the excellent piney character that keeps the citric aspect in check. Excellent sweet character stays present throughout but in the background giving an amazing balance. Finishes pleasantly bitter, not too much, not too little. Medium body and a light but sharp carbonation. Awesome IPA, I love two hearted but this is awesome

Golden coloured and hazy. Aroma is very hoppy, pine, citrus, passion-fruit, and a bit of malt...perhaps. Flavor is heavy bitter. Dry texture. Lively carbonation.

Pours a cloudy orange with some sediment and a nice airy off-white head that flattens in about a minute. Laces all the way to the bottom. Aroma is pretty sweet like a hoppy bubblegum with a little pear. Flavor is a bit watered down but has some nice bite at the very beginning with what would initially appear to be because of heavy carbonation but is just the bitterness of the hops with a dry pass over the palate at the finish.

Poured from a 22oz. bottle into a pint glass. The color is a light, clear, gold color with about three fingers of white head with some nice lacing. The smell is a real strong hop flavor. A pretty grassy hop flvor carries this beer from the start with a nice floral flavor. The taste is, as expected, nice and hoppy with a real strong floral flavor. Some nice clove and citrus fruit flavors are set back after the first hits of hops has had their time on you taste buds. The feel is pretty darn great. It has a light mouthfeel that goes down pretty darn easy and it just sweet to the taste buds. A great hop experience.

Hard to top this one. Wonderful pine and citrus aroma. Pours a slightly cloudy golden with nice head. Great citrus hop flavours, grapefruit, but predominated by a tart lemon. Balanced malt. A lingering hop, dry finish that sticks around. Easily one of the best IPAs you could have.

Bottle from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen. Pours a moisty golden with a majestic off white head - and it stays. Shoots off massive american hops blended with floral and citric notes. The taste is strong and bitter with the hoppy overall impression. First the fruity and hoppy notes overtaken by a funky bitterness as from grapefruits. Its quite nicely balanced and the dry-hopping is still fresh - what is hard to say about many IPAs shipped from the States. The mouthfeel is nice and sticky from the alcohol and somehow creamy. Nice

A: A nice peachy copper color with a big thunderous head upon the pour. There is wonderful thick lacing left behind as I slowly enjoy this brew. S: Lots of hops. Huge aroma with Pine and Citrus in the forefront. There are nice malty undertones and a buttery aroma which help to make this a perfectly balanced brew. T: The taste is where this beer shines. Lots of citrus... grapefruit, oranges, lemon, you name it it’s in there. There are tons of citrus hops in this one. There is also a nice caramel sweetness from the malt. The bitterness of the hops is well stated and really lingers. Quite possibly the best IPA I have ever had. M: Medium bodied IPA with lots of fizz upon the pour. The oiliness of the hops hang around letting you enjoy the lingering effects of this beer.
