This beer was a hazy blonde color with a nice layer of fluffy head and nice looking lacing. The nose is spicy with some light funky wheat notes along with a bit of banana, clove, coriander and some citrusy orange notes that I can’t quite tell if it’s orange peel or hops. You never know with these San Diego folk! The flavor is sweet but balanced with a refreshing zesty carbonation and fruity malt notes to go along with it. The finish is clean and it has a well built body, much more solid than I’ve been drinking from other breweries around here in San Diego. Good beer! omhper (12299), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 20, 2006 Draught at Concordia, Portland. Lightly hazy golden, rich creamy head. Spicy almond aroma. Medium sweet with rounded mouthfeel. Herbal spices and hay are there, as is a typical Belgian yeast character. A well balanced ale of very high quality. robertburns (15), westminster, Colorado, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 10, 2006 Very light, fruity, soft nose. Very light hops. A belgian style saison, but without the full body of a true belgian. One of my least favorites from Alesmiths. beeryum (652), Norcross, Georgia, USA

Light malty, yeasty, citrusy, and corrainder spiced aromas and flavors. Some light fruity notes. Touch of bitterness to finish. This was very well done, and very impressive for a beer that seems to sit in the shadows of the big beers from Alesmith. chargerfanjess (116), San Diego, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 10, 2006 It was a clear pale yellow, with minimal white head. Real pale. Nice clove aroma. The beer light and fizzy and you keep desiring the taste. There is a mild wheat flavor, but kicks in a good rich note of spices. The coriander and curacao come though nicely. After 8-10 seconds, a warm maltiness says hello on the tongue. Great brew

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 8, 2006 This is a small version of the horny devil and I believe is the exact same beer as one of their retired beers on the list. This is way more of a belgain wit than a pale ale. It is so sweet and so good for style. jimbowood (979), Athens, Georgia, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 3, 2006 Tasted on draft @ the brewery. I really didn;t like this one. Way too much coriander for my taste. Too much clove as well. A poor offering IMHO from a great brewery. mrnutsnbolts (204), Berkeley, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 30, 2005 Tap @ Alesmith. Poured a hazy straw color with a small, light head. This beer reminds me of a cross between a hefeweizen and a witbier with a twist. Spicy, yeasty, citrusy, pleasantly hoppy, and fruity.
