| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 26, 2004 This beer has a complex spicy notes to it. I could just smell this beer forever, there are great notes of apple, and a variously sundry mix of fresh herbs. This has a nicely light and refreshing taste with a cidery finish and a hint of balancing astringency. This is quite a spicy beer throughout, with notes of coriander in the middle of this beer. This is just so much better than its big brother the Horny Devil. scraff (1955), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 14, 2004 Alesmith tap room - Hazy golden yellow, creamy white head. Lots of spicy corriander, orange peel, and belgian yeast in the nose. Good fruity, lemony and spicy notes going on in the flavor. Nicely balanced, medium bodied, soft carbonation, crisp, dry spicy finish. Great summer session beer in my book. hopscotch (5543), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 30, 2004 On draft at Pizza Port. The description for Lil Devil on the Alesmith website is an apt one, "conceived as a ’little sister’ to our Famous Horny Devil Ale". This one is a rich amber-orange color with a moderate white head that leaves some lacing. Similar to the big sister with lots of belgian aroma and flavor - sweet maltiness, citrus, yeast, spice. This one doesn’t have nearly the alcohol kick, is milder in flavors, lighter bodied and a bit more tart. Another nice ale from Alesmith. How lucky am I to live in this town (San Diego)?
