Estery, banana aromas waft to my nostrils, spiced by a bit of herbal coriander and clove and sweetened with nectarines. Light to medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel. Easy drinking, refreshing brew, but the flavor dimensions are packed into this one quite well. More banana, herbs, and a hint of orange spice. In a side by side tasting with Horny Devil, I have to admit I enjoyed this one a bit more. The subtlety creates a nice balance for these flavors. This is a fantastic complex beer that changes with every new batch. I’ve had it taste like a banana hefenweizen, as well as tasting more like its big sister horny devil. The beauty of this beer is that it is always different and always good, if you get a change check it out. Naven (876), Poway, California, USA

Oddly enough, I have lived in San Diego for 20 years and really haven’t had that many different Alesmith beers. Well, today I had a couple more. This one is a nice light belgian ale. Sure it’s not super strong and all, but it’s a perfect beer for a nice hot day like today. It’s got a lot going on - corriander, clove, banana, etc. I wish this was bottled. I like it. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 2, 2006 Draft at stuffed sandwich. Hazy gold pour, on the lighter side, well spiced, corriander mainly, good drink on a hot day. Slightly tart on the tongue. I would buy this in 12 oz. bottles if available. Decent brew. bu11zeye (5608), Frisco, Texas, USA

This is the kind of ale that I could drink all day and still avoid hurting myself with. Fragrant, light, but still tastes like a nice pale wit. Yes, I stole that comparison right from the description, but that’s what it tastes like. I wish this were at more places around town. Maybe I’d wake up with less black eyes and skinned elbows. sersdf (1000), chicago, Illinois, USA
