Commercial Description:
A cross between a belgian wit and a pale ale..in essence, a toned-down Horny Devil.

Sample at the brewery. I was not impressed with this. It was spicy, yes, but a little off. I really have no purpose for this beer.

Small tap sample at the brewery. Lightly cloudy golden body, no real head. Aroma was oranges and coriander (spices) and some other fruits as well. I actually liked this much better than its big brother since it had almost the same flavor profile and was MUCH more drinkable. A real nice Belgian ale. Was listed as 6.66% ABV.

Tap @ brewery. Light golden body with white head and lace. Clove, wheat, lemon, sourdough bread on the aroma. Light/medium body, foamy carb and a DRY (just underlined a lot), finish. Flavor is musky/earthy, light clove, lemon, sour, wheaty. A nice ale, drinkable.

Wow! Not only was this a great beer but the guys over at Ale Smith were really nice. I stopped by unannounced and they were closed. I banged on their door until they let me in. Instead of turning me away into the heartless sober wilds of San Diego they invited me back to the tasting area and treated me great. They let me sample anything I wanted and even gave me paraphernalia. Thanks Ale Smiths! Now to the beer! Spicy and cool with yeasty tastes. Coriander, orange and something else that makes me think of aromatic little garden plants.

Poured a hazy golden color with a small, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of coriander, citrus fruits, spices, melons, and light yeast. Taste was dry and yeasty, citrus fruits, and more spices, with medium carbonation.

On tap at Alesmith - Color is a hazy light gold with a nice head. The aroma is a typical belgium wit - spicey and a little grainy. The flavor is light with a hint of spice. Medium body. Wits are not my favorite, but this one is pretty good. Easier to drink than Horny Devil.

Tap at Alesmith. The beer pours to a straw colored body with a white head and nice lacing. The aroma is strong Belgian yeasts, light cloves, subtle banana. The flavor is Belgian yeasts, cloves, bananas. No hops to be found. Light coriander. The palate is nothing special.

Pale golden color w/ a thick white head. Grainy aroma some hot hop notes that give offa lightly spicy smell. Even smooth palate coats well. Flavor is lightly spiced clove & allspice some nice sweet grains and a touch of honey. Pretty Good.
