Hops played a bigger role than I thought they would. Nice balance between malt and hops for the finish. JohnC (2286), Mission Viejo, California, USA

Dark red with a one finger off white head. Nice malt flavor with a touch of hops. For an amber ale, this has a nice amount of complexity and flavor. I’d like to see this around more often. jarspag (600), Los Angeles, California, USA

On draft during February - hence name. Nice copper red appearance with lots of lacing. The nice smooth malt backgroud was the highlight. Not packed with flavor - but overall a nice refreshing beer. A nice subtle blend of caramel, sweets, and bittering hops. sersdf (1000), chicago, Illinois, USA

Big thumbs up to Peter and Ryan I believe at the brewpub for letting us in and trying some beer. Pours a light pink red with an off-white head. Very floral, fruity smell to it. Hoppy as well. Taste was very mellow, good subtle hop taste blended with a light malty sweetness to it. It seemed to me everything about this beer was subtle which I think worked for it. Finish was pretty smooth and a nice aftertaste was left behind. awaisanen (1279), Irvine, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 3, 2007 On tap at the brewery. Dark, ruddy amber pour with shades of gingerbread and a tall froth of off-white head. Loads of fresh piney hops saturate the bouquet, with some edgy pink grapefruit thrown in to the mix for good measure. A thorough cookie dough malty base backs it up, along with a bit of english toffee. Medium bodied, well carbonated, yet soft mouthfeel; rich and full malty texture that has some residual sweetness left, but is more of a doughy treat than a sticky mess. The flavors are much more malt oriented than the bouquet led me to believe, bringing out more toffee and cookie dough flavors. A hint of caramel and toasted biscuit, but not to the realm of roasty by any means. Clean finish with a gentle lingering hop bitterness making itself known in the final smack. danem (12), Bothell, Washington, USA
