Oct 23, 2007 Dark brown with a small white head. Roasty sweet chocolate and nutty aroma. Flavor is the same. A dry roasted nuttiness lingers in the finish. My only complaint is that it was too thin.

Oct 16, 2007 In short: Superior yet classic nutty Brown-Ale
How: Hand-bottled flip-top brought to Montreal by WeeHeavySD. Thanks Jon.
The look: Clear ruby brown body with a short-lived beige head (I’m sure a fresh pint on tap would have a good head retention)
In long: Very nutty on the note. Body felt rather full and presented flavours of toasted nuts, crisp caramel and toasted bread. Leafy hops were not very tasty and were happy just to do their balancing job without interfering with the malt flavours. The beer felt creamy yet crisp at the same time. The carbonation wasn’t very lively but that was to be expected with a days-old hand-bottled flip-top. Despite the hand-bottled this was one of the best session Brown Ale I’ve had so I can easily imagine how good a fresh pint from a tap must be. The bottle we drank was a 3.5 but because of the hand-bottled thing I’ll be as generous as an oil tycoon to a republican campaign.

Oct 15, 2007 My Bottom Line:
This quenching Brown Ale is ripe with nutty caramel and bready tones, a chewy cornucopia of malt flavors for such a low gravity ale which eventually gets balanced out by supporting hop bitterness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the burgundy brown.
-Maltiness reaches chocolate sweetness too.
-The body is lean, but rather round for a beer this gravity.
-I will definitely try this again on tap at the brewery, as it must be excellent fresh.

Oct 13, 2007 Poured brown with an off white head. Aroma of chocolate and caramel. Chocolate, nuts, caramel, and some fruit flavors present. Very good brown ale. I wish I could get more around me. Thanks Sick_Boy for letting me try this!

Oct 1, 2007 Draft @ Alesmith. Pours a brownish-amber color; light tan head with good retention and lacing. Creamy, oily nut aroma; some chocolate and caramel. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: creamy nuttiness and toasty caramel; viscous; excellent chewiness and generosity for a brown ale; dried fruits and a slightest citrus on the mid-palate. Medium, nutty and creamy finish; excellent brown ale.

Aug 24, 2007 On Tap Hamiltons. The best nutbrown made. Rich viscosity with a deep hazelnut brown. Rich head and full bodied. flavors/aromas of hazelnut, toasted malt and lightly very lightly chocolate.
