DaMenace123 (250), Houston, Texas, USA Mar 18, 2007 Draught at AleSmith brewery. Brown pour. Chocolate, nutty, malty aroma. Similar flavor. Very good, typical brown ale. rmussman (905), California, USA Feb 28, 2007 Sampled in San Diego in June. A nice beer, but not to the standard that AleSmith is famous for. Still one of the best Brown Ales that you will find. A very nice beer with a nice aroma. Taste is very nice, but nothing to be impressed by. Tmoney99 (4652), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Feb 11, 2007 Draft at Downtown Johnny Browns. Poured a clear brown color with an average fizzy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Heavy toasted sweet malt and light hop aroma. Medium body. Solid sweet toasted flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Good complex brew. hellomynameis (794), Mayer, Minnesota, USA Jan 8, 2007 Via Growler. Poured a clear brown with ruby notes and a white/off white head. The aroma is quite nice, lucious even, with chocolate.abound and some nuttieness. The palate is not thick, but chewy. The perfect body for the strong malty flavours, chocolate mostly. It’s just good...with enjough bitterness in the end to balnce it all out. stubby (325), Santee, California, USA Dec 26, 2006 Solid brown ale. I have had various offerings of this, as Peter will sometimes use different hopping schedules. Always a treat and a good session beer. Chocolatey, medium bodied, judiciously hopped. Not sweet, not dry. CharlesDarwin (1821), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA Nov 26, 2006 Liquour-like Frangelico-type aroma, with wafting alcohol notes on a tone of nutty toast and malt. Dry. Heavy brown pour, with a nice creamy froth. A light and refreshing taste, however bold with quality hazlenut and tawny pale fruits to combine for a nice quality in a brown ale. Touches of saltiness in the nutty character. Both drinkable and full of distinction, yet having nice balance. Something that makes this top considering the quality of the body. Englander1986 (51), Middlesbrough, England Nov 11, 2006 An interesting twist on a nut-brown ale, a distinct chocolate aftertaste is very nice, especially when you’re dying for a drink after work. geographylists (26), San Diego, California, USA Nov 10, 2006 Updated: Nov 14, 2006A very smooth yet chocolate-nut flavored ale. Not particularly filling, so this is great for a before-dinner beer. Currently available for growler fills at the brewery though not available in bottles.
