Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
Speedway Stout is a HUGE Imperial Stout, with pounds and pounds of coffee added during conditioning for a little extra kick! This is a limited-edition Formula and it'll definitely get you racing! It is available in 750 ml. champagne bottles. Appearance: Jet Black, with a toast-brown head. Flavor: Starts with a strong coffee and dark chocolate sensation, then fades to a multitude of toasty, roasty and caramelly flavors. Finishes with a nice fullness but dry enough not to be cloying. Aroma: COFFEE! And some other stuff. And coffee. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Velvety smooth texture. Clean and crisp, full-bodied. Warmth from the high alcohol content lightens up the feel a bit. Still, you won't fool your taste buds -- this beer is HUGE!

Big thanks to savvy1982 for sharing this one. And another big thanks to bitbucket for sending this beauty Kyle’s way! Pours like a black hole with a mocha coloured head that takes it’s time appearing, but then grows into a nice one and a half fingered beauty. Nice lacing. Aroma has milk chocolate, coffee, dark chocolate, ash, smoke and a hint of alcohol. Palate starts sweet, then goes bitter, then turns sweet again, and then goes into a long bitter finish. All kinds of chocolate all over this one. Milk, coffee... tuns of coffee, licorice, berries, tar, caramel, and a whole lotta wow! Mouth feel is perfect. This beer is amazing. Totally worth the high praise. This beer will haunt me in my dreams for a long time. GREAT beer! Thanks Kyle!

Rating 100! Woo! Thanks to bitbucket for getting this to me in time for it to be Rating 100! Bottle. Pours an inky black, with a retroactive head: the beer pours without a head, then the head rises up of its own volition. Very cool! Great lacing as well. Held up to the light, it remains equally black, light does not penetrate this beer. Nose is milk chocolate, coffee of many shades, fruit, a certain vinous character. Not as complex as say Struise Black Albert, but huge and immensely pleasing. The palate is so much better than the nose, good as it was. Coffee beans, milk chocolate, espresso, malt, roast, mouthcoating, very well-ntegrated hops. This beer transistions from swet to bitter, then sweet and bitter. Covers a huge range of flavors, and is overall a great big fantastic bastard, without showing more than a trace of alcohol.

Black pour with a nice tad head and good lacing. Hoppy, rich, dark chocolate aroma with really nice coffee roast notes, dark fruit, and some faint vinousness. Very deep and complex aroma. Strong bitter coffee flavor with lots of hop and bakers chocolate bitterness. Some more dark fruit. A little astringent. Medium-full body with lots of carbonation.

Bottle... Poured black with a light brown head, amazing retention. Rich aroma of dessert-like creamy tones and roasted characters. A little boozy, but pretty tame and drinkable for 12%. A little acidic be well creamy and roasty. A little bit of almond and nutty, toasted malts with a big coffee finish. Would love to try this after a year or two of aging.

Tasted 6/15/09. 750ml bottle. Pitch and dark with a layer of khaki head. Big aromas, even from arms length. Notes of coffee and dark chocolate. This has a surprisingly lighter body for the strength. More dark fruity esters and alcohol burn than toasty malt roast. Mild toffee flavor but some serious coffee notes. Decent tingling effervescence. Sticky and bitter finish. This is a great beer!

Thanks Zythum. Rich black pour with mocha brown head composed of 1000’s of tiny bubbles. Aroma is of coffee and roasted malt. As the head settles, lacing appears on the top of the glass. Coffee, bitterness of coffee, roasted malt, and sweetness. Nice chewy stout. Slight dryness at the end, but it urges you to take another sip. Each time I set the glass down, a new layer of thick lacing is left on the side of it. As I was drinking this, I was already planning on another trade to get some more of this. This stout is fantastic. I wish I had a camera to take a picture of the intense lacing it left on my glass so I could post it on here. Cheers to Alesmith!!

Thanks to mattmc1973 for sharing this. Pours a dark brown, almost black, with thin tan head, a little thinner than what I was expecting. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruit, and not quite as much coffee as I was expecting. Flavor matched well, with a slight sweetness and caramel. Quite good, but just not what I was hoping for, I expected more.
