Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
Speedway Stout is a HUGE Imperial Stout, with pounds and pounds of coffee added during conditioning for a little extra kick! This is a limited-edition Formula and it'll definitely get you racing! It is available in 750 ml. champagne bottles. Appearance: Jet Black, with a toast-brown head. Flavor: Starts with a strong coffee and dark chocolate sensation, then fades to a multitude of toasty, roasty and caramelly flavors. Finishes with a nice fullness but dry enough not to be cloying. Aroma: COFFEE! And some other stuff. And coffee. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Velvety smooth texture. Clean and crisp, full-bodied. Warmth from the high alcohol content lightens up the feel a bit. Still, you won't fool your taste buds -- this beer is HUGE!

750 mL into snifter. Pours an opaque black with a small, dark tan head that disappears after awhile. Spotty lacing. Aroma of sour black cherries, chocolate covered strawberries, and fresh granny smith apples. Taste is sour with black cherries, strawberry tart, semisweet chocolate. Very oily, velvety mouthfeel that is coating on the palate. Reminds me of an imperial Bell’s Cherry Stout. Could actually be an RIS and Sour Ale combined. 12% is barely noticeable. As this drink warms, I start to get some espresso and vanilla ice cream as well as heavy whipping cream. Maybe this needs to be aged more but the overall impression I had was that this was very sour.

Bottle at the “Drink for Charity” event at Rattle & Hum. Max brought this one I believe. Pours a deep dark black with a medium tan head. One of the best looking beers of the day. Plum, coffee, molasses, vanilla, and even a touch of bourbon on the nose. Medium thick body, with a light roast and big coffee note. Finishes with more roast. Very nice.

Bottle. Thick as molasses and black as could be with a rich, tan head that stuck around for quite awhile. Aroma of coffee and chocolate. One of the best pre-tasting impressions I have encountered. Flavor is coffee and caramel with just enough alcohol at the finish to remind you that it’s 12%. Needs to be available in Washington yesterday.

This is one of my first stouts that turned me on to russian imperial stouts. This stout is dark as night and has everything you expect in a stout. raisins plums, coffee, roasty malts, chocolate, and some booze on there as well. One of my favorites in this style

I dont care if Speedway Stout was only served out of the anus of a dirty frenchman, I would still crave it nightly. It poured as black as night, with a medium brown head. Smells of charred coffee, dark bitter chocolate, and booze. sweet sweet booze. Its heavy, it will take a darn good time to drink the whole thing.

Pitch black with a dark tan head, nice lacing. Nice milk chocolate/coffee burnt malt aroma. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. awesome taste of dark chocolates, expresso, roasted malts with a nicely bitter alcohol tang to finish. My favorite stout for sure

Bottle, rating 1300. Pours near black with a chocolate brown head. Roasted malt aroma, with molasses, loads of coffee and a bit of dark chocolate sweetness. The first sip is intense, coffee, roasted malts, and chocolate. Mellows as it warms and your palate gets acclimated, and notes of molasses, dark chocolate and caramel peek through. A nice roasty and lightly hoppy bitterness lingers. Certainly an outstanding beer, and although it isn’t one of my top imp. stouts, I can see why it’s rated so high.

750ml silver wrapping into a large snifter. Pours thick black with a medium to thick mocha head with incredible sudsy lacing. You have to let this one breathe and warm to fully appreciate the aroma. With patience I got milk chocolate, raisins, prunes, port wine, and a good portion of hops.. very complex. Flavor is a roasty milk chocolate with almost a belgian sour quailty with hops and burnt espresso bitterness in the finish, very unique. Nice creamy palate, slightly thin but very drinkable.
