My least favorite against the other two I tried, but still very excellent. A bit more vinous and bitter than I like in a stout, more emphasis on coffee, including coffee bitterness which I’m not a big fan of. Still an excellent beer, a friend or two is necessary to tackle a bomber. Thanks Tom! travita (1910), Frisco, Texas, USA

It pours a straight black with a beige head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate with a flavor of sweet malty flavor that ends with a bitter coffee/ chocolate flavor. A very full, thick beer. Has some wine characteristics. I definitely enjoyed this brew but will save it for special occasions in the future. yngwie (4970), Kristiansand, Norway

(RBNAG 07) A gorgeous looking beer with a jet black body that probably would have been said to be unclear if it was possible to see through it at all. At least it looks like that. Complex aroma and flavor with sweetness, roasted malt, bitterness, cocoa and all the good stuff expected. Full body. What a silly idea, to drink and rate this after so many good beers, when really drunk and with my tastebuds gone to sleep. Hope I get another opportunity to sample it. 2006 750ml bottle thanks to The Beer Sommelier. This one has aged very well - the alcohol is more subdued while the coffee and licorice are very pronounced. all below in my previous rating still stands.. although I have kicked up the appearance a notch - deep black pour with a wonderful 1 finger tan head... doesn’t get much better than that. This one is damn near perfect... I would like to try the BA version and see how that one compares before taking it any further towards a 5.

12- 750ml on New Year’s Eve. This beer is legendary.... absolutely wonderful. Thick black pour with a small tan head. Aromas of licorice and coffee. Very smooth over the palate with a thick body that rolls right over the tongue. The front of the tongue grabs the licorice and the coffee notes flow over the sides. There is a touch of carbonation on the palate. Nice alcohol warmth on the finish and through the aftertaste. Speedway delivers with a punch.... delicious. The creamiest of brews that is well balanced and hides it’s strength and only spreads a rich taste not overdone. BrewDad (2366), Olympia, Washington, USA

Aroma – Huge rich aroma of Coffee, Chocolate and dark toasty malts.
Appearance – Dark black color, clear sure if you can see through it. Thin tan head.
Flavor – Big roasty malt with tons of other flavors. Wow what a treat. Chocolate, coffee and just a great flavor.
Palate – Awesome Mouthfeel this was a orgasm in your mouth for a beer experience.
Overall – One of the best beers I have ever had. Wow I held that bottle almost 2 years. Never again I will be sure to drink when they are touted like this beer.

It has lots of flavor with roasted malts and coffee. Very smooth texture with a nice long finish. I wish all beers drank like this one. It goes down way to easily.
