Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
Speedway Stout is a HUGE Imperial Stout, with pounds and pounds of coffee added during conditioning for a little extra kick! This is a limited-edition Formula and it'll definitely get you racing! It is available in 750 ml. champagne bottles. Appearance: Jet Black, with a toast-brown head. Flavor: Starts with a strong coffee and dark chocolate sensation, then fades to a multitude of toasty, roasty and caramelly flavors. Finishes with a nice fullness but dry enough not to be cloying. Aroma: COFFEE! And some other stuff. And coffee. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Velvety smooth texture. Clean and crisp, full-bodied. Warmth from the high alcohol content lightens up the feel a bit. Still, you won't fool your taste buds -- this beer is HUGE!

Bottle courtesy of ogivlado who shared it with me and heavy (huge HUGE thanks!)
Poured a black body with a brown medium sized head that went away extremely slowly. The aroma is fine but a bit weak, oily roasty maltiness, coffee and tasty coffee, light alcohol. Extremely nice coffee notes in the taste, possibly the best I’ve ever had in a beer. Damn drinkable, almost no alcohol noticable. Earthy and, very light hop for a second. Not terribly complex but damn effective and likable. Surprised me. A great beer.

Pitch black with a nice head and lacing all the way to the bottom of the bottle. Aroma is of strong coffee, with some chocolate and berry notes coming through. As I got to the bottom of my glass I also noticed some slight boozy scents, but they were pleasant rather than overpowering. I wish the nose was slightly stronger, because it smells very good. The taste and mouth feel are absolutely jawdropping. Dark roasted coffee, chocolate, Dr. Pepper (?) and a delicious back end like a lightly sweetened latte. Palate coating, sticky, full bodied but not overly viscous. Insanely drinkable, low alcohol burn. For the money, for the ease of acquisition, and for the ability to be consumed at any age or level of freshness, Speedway Stout might be the best beer in America.

Huge thanks to Cavie. Jet black pour with a big, thick brown head. Aroma is espresso beans, vanilla bean, dark chocolate, roasted malts, and caramel. Big flavor. Cream, caramel, toffee, coffee, and blackened malts. Warm feel with a great aftertaste. Beautiful.

Bottle courtesy of alagnek. Big thanks for this one! Glorious pitch black pour. Large tan head. Chocolaty coffee aroma. Very silky mouthfeel. Taste is a lovely chocolate/malt flavoring but has a ridiculous coffee flavoring. Finish has a little bitter chocolate flavoring. Very good.

Bottle from Cavie. Pour is thick with a milky head. Smell is inviting. I was very much so looking forward to this beer and it /definately/ delivered.

Very tasty strong chocolate coffee stout. Very drinkable and didn’t notice the alcohol that much. Is it the best out there though?

Sterile but seriously chocolatey aroma. "Serious" black color with tan head. Very sweet and chocolatey with a light red apple finish. Notes: ’09 GABF

Poured a nice dark black with mild carbonation. It had a strong coffee taste with hints of floral and citrus a very smooth taste and the alcohol is well hidden. A must try highly recommended.

At last some Speedway has found it’s way into my glass. While enjoying this stout I realized I wasn’t really blown away by any one thing, and soon understood that what makes this great is simply how well it’s made. Opaque dark, rich brown body with a diminishing medium brown head and streaky/spotty lacing. Coffee and chocolate aromas dominated by burnt, roasted malts. Exceptional feeling from this beer, drinkable and approachable. Very smooth with a nice dry finish. Flavors mirror the robust aromas. Standard Imperial Stout qualities with an over abundance of quality coffee.
