Pours deep black with a creamy tan head. Smell is rich and sweet, with milk chocolate, light whiskey, cinnamon, and prunes. There’s nice roast in the taste, with sweet toffee and caramel, and coffee that stays through the finish. It’s powdery and smooth in the mouth, with a medium-full body. Really well-balanced and easy to drink, and only a little alcohol burn--amazing for a 12% brew. Pretty impressive stuff.

Aroma is espresso beans, vanilla bean, dark chocolate, roasted malts, and caramel. Big flavor. Cream, caramel, toffee, coffee, and blackened malts. Warm feel with a great aftertaste. Beautiful. Large tan head. Chocolaty coffee aroma. Very silky mouthfeel. Taste is a lovely chocolate/malt flavoring but has a ridiculous coffee flavoring. Finish has a little bitter chocolate flavoring. Very good. cwsample (18), Texas, USA

It had a strong coffee taste with hints of floral and citrus a very smooth taste and the alcohol is well hidden. A must try highly recommended. cking (1041), North Canton, Ohio, USA

While enjoying this stout I realized I wasn’t really blown away by any one thing, and soon understood that what makes this great is simply how well it’s made. Opaque dark, rich brown body with a diminishing medium brown head and streaky/spotty lacing. Coffee and chocolate aromas dominated by burnt, roasted malts. Exceptional feeling from this beer, drinkable and approachable. Very smooth with a nice dry finish. Flavors mirror the robust aromas. Standard Imperial Stout qualities with an over abundance of quality coffee. SpencerDB (109), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

It was more like smelling my morning coffee than a pungent 12% imperial stout. Poured pitch black with little head. Aroma had mostly coffee with a small amount of the dark chocolate malt. Taste was overpoweringly coffee to the point that my palate was shot for the day. Couldn’t taste anything but coffee for the next hour. Definitely complex and nice to drink if that’s all you’re going to be drinking for the day. Too in-your-face for me. Would have like a bit more drinkability instead of one sided coffee.
