Storm (2685), Amager, Denmark Feb 1, 2006 75 cl bottle. Very dark reddish brown colour with a nice head. Great aroma of sweetness, toffee, malt and candy. Nice sweet flavour of candies, alcohol, dried fruit and roasted malt. A really lovely beer. jimbowood (947), Athens, Georgia, USA Jan 31, 2006 Bottle pours dark brown with virtually no head and no lacing. Smoke, sweet malt, and chocolate flavors with alcohol finish. mybrainhurts (212), North Dakota, USA Jan 27, 2006 I wish this beer was available in my area, but unfortunately for me it’s not. A truly delicious scotch ale. Pours deep dark chocolate, with a short lasting off white head. Yeast floaties all over in the liquid. Rich aroma of Smoke, cherries, chewy caramel, plums and moist chocolate. Flavor is similar to aroma with a nice roasty character. Nice rewarding finish. A strong yet approachable brew. Alesmith is quality all the way! This may be my highest rated beer yet! WISEGUY572 (1244), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 27, 2006 Reddish brown, nearly opaque. Could not force it to have a head no matter how high I held the bottle while pouring. Great malty smokey nose. Taste of coffee, chocolate, dark malts, dried fruit, and bitter hops. Wonderful complexity. Alcohol completely hidden except for thoughts of something far stronger than beer... at close to 10% hidding the alcohol could be dangerous. I really do like this beer, but I don’t want the rating to get out of alignment with other beers I have also really liked. From time to time I need to drink another Westvleteren to remind myself why this is not a 4.6. Cletus (5001), Connecticut, USA Jan 26, 2006 Updated: Feb 11, 2008Pours copper/brown with a stubborn creamy tan head. Smells of anise, raisins, berries, some smoked woody qualities. Taste is of cognac, roses, anise, licorice, raisins, figs, and many others too numerous to list. By far one of the most complex offerings from Alesmith. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA Jan 22, 2006 I finally got around to trying this one and my god was it worth the wait. I drank the whole bottle myself. Immense aroma, I think I sat there for a good ten minutes just smelling all the intensities coming out of the glass. Just a hint of smoke and vanilla, sweet honey and butterscotch, full rich mouthfeel, with some caramel and chocolate. This is the most delicious beer that I have had in ages. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA Jan 17, 2006 I finally found this one. I can’t figure out why it was so hard to find in San Diego. Pours dark mahogany with a thick tan head. Nutty, smoky aroma with smoe caramel. The taste is phenomenal. Toasty malts and buttescotch with a hint of bittersweet chocolate. Finish is creamy and sweet. Just an awesome beer. Papsoe (14613), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jan 17, 2006 (Bottle 75 cl) Beautiful, dark mahogany with a small, off-white head. Extremely malty aroma with loads of dried fruits. Very full body again with tons of roasted malt and dried fruits - raisins and prunes in particular. Markedly sweet. A lovely, rich and wholesome brew. 160106
