Sep 23, 2004 A brown beer with a small disappearing orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of alcohol and oranges. The flavor is sweet with notes of chocolate and coffe, while the alcohol burns slightly in the throat while You sip this nice beer. Quite strong for a Scotch Ale - more like a Barley Wine.

May 20, 2002 Chestnut brown. Huge amount of malt. Chewy and vivuous. Oak and toffee flavour, slightly salty finish. Very complex. Definitely world class!

Jan 17, 2006 (Bottle 75 cl) Beautiful, dark mahogany with a small, off-white head. Extremely malty aroma with loads of dried fruits. Very full body again with tons of roasted malt and dried fruits - raisins and prunes in particular. Markedly sweet. A lovely, rich and wholesome brew. 160106

Aug 6, 2008 From cask at the brewery. Pours clear and deep golden amber with a light tan head. Dense burbon malty and alcohol aroma, subdued fruity note. Dense caramel flavour and fruity. Light metallic note and slight yeasty touch. Lingering fruity and hoppy flavour with a nicely balanced yet dense caramely flavour. Sweet and fruity finish.
