AleSmith Wee Heavy Scotch Ale

Dark brown...significant brown head with lace. Aroma of malt, carob, caramel. Big, rich, thick malt, molassas, bitter chocolate, raisins, fudge, bitter nuts, chalk, smoke. Heavy, syrupy, sweet finish; big and tasty.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a longlasting off-white head. Very malty and slightly fruity hoppy aroma with hints of caramel and dark fruit. Sweetish warming malty caramel flavor with some hoppy hints. Long warming malty caramel finish. Very nice.

Snifter. Pours deep red with copious beige head. Aroma is powerful and complex. Caramel, toffee, molasses, and toastyness are all characteristics of the malt alone. Other aromas include vanilla, and walnut, though roasted malt is prevalent and hard hitting. Flavor Was huge of malt, hitting from every possible angle. Malt character and complexity of this nature is seldom seen, and unrivaled in my expirience. So many flavors and facets of the malt come out not only in this style, but in this particular well honed example. Palate is incredibly smooth, creamy, full, rich, viscous, with a sticky coating property and some tingling carbonation. An amazing example of an amazing style- big ups to Alesmith for this beast of a brew.

pours a black red, like a garnet, with a massive frothy head and great lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, toffe, vanilla, a hint of nectarine, and molasses. Palate is creamy beyond belief, flavor brings roasted malts to the forefront, slight alcohol in the front part of the sip, still hints of vanilla. Stupendous beer overall.
