Commercial Description:
Our Weizenbock is a pale, golden color, and like a bottom-fermented bock, has a high starting gravity and high alcohol content. The smooth, malty sweetness of a Weizenbock is balanced with clove, honey and fruit-like flavors. A touch of honey is also perceivable in the nose to produce a unique and complex aroma. It has a medium to full body and mouthfeel. The wheat adds a subtle tartness, which makes for quite a quenching and refreshing beer.

Bottle supplied by Eyedrinkale. Things started off roughly with a broken cork but progressed very nicely after that. Copper amber color with a whitish head. Nice lacing. Sweet and malty aroma. Indeed bits of honey are detectable. Not a lot of the traditional wheat beer aromas. Medium bodied, smooth. Alcohol is seemingly a bit more than 8.6. A nice beer to sip on!!

Grapey aroma like St. Lamvinus with some of those musty/sour notes, also butterscotch, deep sweet wheat, and woody tannins. Cloudy brown-yellow. Mmm, a bit past its prime maybe. Taste grapey, wheat, syrupy palate, alcoholic, tangy allspice in the middle, clovey finish. Tasty. Not mindblowing but good. Bizarre immediate aftertaste like grape Dimetapp that wasn’t too wonderful....thanks Eric!

1999 Vintage. Poured a hazy amber color with a small white head. Some particles. Aromas and tastes of lemons, wheat, bananas, wheat and a little woody. This one may be a little past its prime (although I did enjoy it).

[Vintage 1999, Sampled 2004] An unclear orange beer with a white disappearing head. The aroma is powerful of wood, cork, yeast, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of alcohol and wood and lesser notes of honey, the end is dry and hoppy. It has aged well. Thanks to DrBill for this sample at the GABF-afterparty.

Hazy amber color. Nice mature malty aroma, with very light phenol. Quite good malty taste, but with too high chemicals in it. A bit unbalanced.

Bottled: Orange/amber coloured. Unclear. Light brown dense. Malt, spice and fruit in the aroma. Smooth. Alcohol, fruit, sweetness and yeast. Is quite well balanced and ends on a sweet note. I really like this,.

Orange-peach, thin nose. Some spice there, a bit minty, but not as much wafting up as I’d like. Nice flavor, sweet and spicy, good malts here as the sugars dance with lemon, yeast, and banana.
