Commercial Description:
Our Weizenbock is a pale, golden color, and like a bottom-fermented bock, has a high starting gravity and high alcohol content. The smooth, malty sweetness of a Weizenbock is balanced with clove, honey and fruit-like flavors. A touch of honey is also perceivable in the nose to produce a unique and complex aroma. It has a medium to full body and mouthfeel. The wheat adds a subtle tartness, which makes for quite a quenching and refreshing beer.

RBSG 2004. To whomever brought this, I thank you... probably something I’ll never get to try again. Weizenbock has a nice syrupy honey nose, chemical-like aromas with some rusty esters. Strong and sharp honey everywhere, thick and strong alcohol evident. Extremely sweet and almost like a liquer... oversugared.

4/14/04. Poured out of 750 mL bottle, bought at Stuffed Sandwich in San Gabriel, CA 4/14/04. 1999 Vintage. Pours a bright burnt golden color with surprisingly dense, creamy head. Very good, especially considering the age, but diminishes to the edges. Lacing is excellent, dense and uniform and then blotchy shortly afterwards. Aroma is of fresh honey, nectar, and a hint of spice. Quite strong and lovely. Shades of pilsner malt. Creamy honeycomb flavor, little bit of clove and wood. Sweet but mild and deliciously complex. Full body, outstandingly carbonated with a lovely mouthfeel. A bit of heat creeps in on the finish, dark and drying too. Very nice, with new layers opening up throughout the bottle, throughout the glass, and throughout the sip. Another great beer from AleSmith. I only wish they still made it.

Hazy orange body, nice white film for a 5 yr old. Superbly smooth aroma. Sponge toffee and butterscotch alike. Wheat presence is very mild. All kinds of sweet malts are to be found in there actually, from honey to toffee to buttered caramel to smoked maple or caramel. Just decadent sweet malt interplays. Gargantua would be jealous. Desert-like is an understatement. Malt fest from the beginning to the end with no compromise, but a nice wheat touch and a somewhat milky or buttery mild acidity. Glory inside a honey pot, incredible treat. Body is unbelievably smooth, filling with still pretty decent carbonation for the age. Great stuff which shows no fatigue at all after 5 years. Unlike any traditional weizenbock though, but take it for what it is: a dying proof that Alesmith got killer malt.

Strong, sweet, fruity, doughy, mildly alcoholic dough-like aroma - more like a Scotch ale than a weizen bock but definitely appealing. Opaque orange-blonde with thin, off-white head that recedes to ring. Sweet orange and burnt fruit flavours with light tartness toward the finish. Plenty of caramel and gentle balancing bitterness. Lastingly sweet. Rather thick, chewy mouthfeel with good carbonation to lighten and smooth wheatbeer body. Bottle. Enjoyed with hopsrus, MartinT and Rastacouere.

Mostly clear orange amber (with some small cork pieces the cork disinegrated). Strong sweet esthery aroma. Subtle but comple all around, sweet wheat, ripe fruits, and even some vinous character. medium-full body.

Medium orange color. Small head. Aroma is malty, caramel, honey and sweet. A medium to full bodied weisenbock. Malts are fruity and sweet, touched of caramel and toffee. Hops are slightly spicy. Very smooth. The malt sweetness dominates the flavors although out this beer, but in a very nice way. Very flavorful. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish si clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet.

RBSG ’04 Hazy deep golden color out of the bottle with a whispy lasting head. Very smooth beer with lots of alcohol, but very well matched by the flavors. Lots of caramel, toffee, butterscotch and honey sweetness. Excellent beer.
