Yeast and wheat. Mild flavors like the nose. More bittering hops. Flows nicely over the palate. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jul 18, 2004 Sampled after the Philly gathering with egajdzis and eyedrinkale, courtesy of the latter...thanks so much Mike! Bright red, some head, lots of floating matter. Sweet nose: baked apples, some toasty almonds. Very sweet on the tongue, initially seems a might cloying, but quickly develops great complexity: syrupy body fills with pie spices, light wheaty sourness/vinous qualities, rum, and orangepeel. Very dense, perhaps for some unbalanced and over-the-top, but just my style, incredible stuff and not to my mind yet past its prime. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA

Pours a hazy gold with a lot of sediment floating around, stumbling all around as drunk as i can imagine they must be. Aroma and taste had an almost mead like honey quality to it. Very sweet and rich, slightly fruity, with caramel tastes, and clove. Very amazing brew. egajdzis (3636), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 10, 2004 Poured a copper color with a small off white head and very light lacing. Caramel malt, butter and sweet malt, also nuts in the aroma. Very intoxicating. Sweet honey, banana, caramel and clove. Hardly any alcohol noticed. Light citrus is almost noticed, this was an amazing Weizen Bock, thanks Eyedrinkale! Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA

The last I heard this hadn’t been brewed in a few years. The cork was a real pain in the ass, but what do you expect? Poured with a very effervescent head (which I didn’t see coming). Cloudy orange with mellow caramel and butterscotch aroma. Taste was mostly caramel with bananas and ripe peaches. It had a nice alcohol kick to it and was still very good. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 1, 2004 Brewtopia 2004: Hazy murky orange (I got the end of the bottle) Rich toffee with a touch of mint in the aroma, medium bodied starts and ends sweet. A good beer from a great brewery. argo0 (6982), Washington DC, USA

Aroma is mild sweet, vinous, sticky caramel. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, alcohol, berby, finishing with a medium alcohol warming. Medium body, low carbonation. Good, but it seemed past its peak. 5000 (2600), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 26, 2004 Bottle pours a cloudy light caramel, frothish honey colored head, small bits of yeast floating about, with somewhat decent lacing. Strong sweet candy aroma, Butterscotch to be exact. Perhaps the slight clove and honey they speak of, but the Butterscotch seems to sum this one up well. Quite sweet on the tongue, again with a Butterscotch note. Very smooth mouthfeel. 8.6% is not detectable at all. Finishes with a sweet fruity tartness, honey, and Butterscotch again. Not as complex as I hoped, but still very enjoyable. I feel honored to even have tried this one. I would easily have this one again. Thanks goes out to cquiroga for the trade!
