Feb 22, 2005 [Vintage 1999, Sampled 2004] An unclear orange beer with a white disappearing head. The aroma is powerful of wood, cork, yeast, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of alcohol and wood and lesser notes of honey, the end is dry and hoppy. It has aged well. Thanks to DrBill for this sample at the GABF-afterparty.

Aug 6, 2008 75 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a lacing white head. Nice woody and malty dense aroma. Mild fruity and dense malty with a light wooden note. Lingering wooden and malty finish. Smooth, delicious and just lovely.

Feb 16, 2005 Hazy amber color. Nice mature malty aroma, with very light phenol. Quite good malty taste, but with too high chemicals in it. A bit unbalanced.

Jun 20, 2004 (brewtopia04 courtesy of Eyedrinkale) Opaque amber body with small off-white head and lots of particulate. Aroma is mild sweet, vinous, sticky caramel. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, alcohol, berby, finishing with a medium alcohol warming. Medium body, low carbonation. Good, but it seemed past its peak.

Feb 28, 2005 1999 Vintage. Poured a hazy amber color with a small white head. Some particles. Aromas and tastes of lemons, wheat, bananas, wheat and a little woody. This one may be a little past its prime (although I did enjoy it).

Dec 25, 2008 (750ml bottle, 1999 vintage) Pours a lightly hazy golden body with a small off-white head. Aroma of graham cracker, cardboard, toasted malt, banana, light florals, and noticeable oxidation. Flavor of caramel malt, biscuit, light rum, and butterscotch.
