Commercial Description:
Our Weizenbock is a pale, golden color, and like a bottom-fermented bock, has a high starting gravity and high alcohol content. The smooth, malty sweetness of a Weizenbock is balanced with clove, honey and fruit-like flavors. A touch of honey is also perceivable in the nose to produce a unique and complex aroma. It has a medium to full body and mouthfeel. The wheat adds a subtle tartness, which makes for quite a quenching and refreshing beer.

Densely clouded orangey amber, good head formation. Sweet caramel and fruit aroma. Initially sweet caramel and orange flavor, followed by a berry tartness and alcohol towards the end. Sticky toffee lingers around but lightly so along with touches of clove spice. Real tastey treat that I found at Stuffed Sandwich last week.

(750ml bottle, 1999 vintage) Pours a lightly hazy golden body with a small off-white head. Aroma of graham cracker, cardboard, toasted malt, banana, light florals, and noticeable oxidation. Flavor of caramel malt, biscuit, light rum, and butterscotch.

GABF 2008, Dr. Bill’s tasting. Pours clear amber with a small, fizzy, off-white head, mostly lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, cookie, caramel), average hops (flowers, perfume), average yeast (dough) with notes of alcohol, banana, and dates. Medium bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and an astringent finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness and acidity, light bitterness.

Sampled @ RBSG, courtesy hellomynameis. Cloudy light amber color, broken light white head. Wheat, caramel, subtle alcohol notes, apricot, light phenols. Smooth taste, defined wheat character, butterscotch, pepper, apricots. A hint of oxidation, but held up amazingly. Real fortunate to be able to try this.

750ml Bottle at RBSG shared by HelloMyNameIs; (my favorite style!!!) Man I wish I could have had this fresh! Nose of caramel, sweetness, and some pasty wheat with some oxidation; Murky orange with a small off-white head; flavor a little cardboardy with caramel, vanilla, and some toffee! Fresh it might be way up there!

Huge surprise to taste this at RBSG. I didnt even know they bottled it! Pours a light orange color ,with a smallish off white head. Smells of sweet caramel malt, traces of some wheat, and creamy vanilla. Nice aroma. The flavor has some big butterscotch effects going on, mixed with some dark fruit, vanilla, and creamy malts. Real easy drinking and smooth on the palate. Just flows down the throat like a river. Absolutely thrilled I got to try this one.

Bottle sampled at RBSG ’08. It looks like I should be thanking hellomynameis for this...thanks man! This brew pours with a cloudy golden-orange body topped by a medium thick head with some lacing. It’s sweet and malty with a note of toffee and candy sugar...mmmm. medium bodied and smooth.

Bottle at RBSG grand tasting. Thanks to hellomynameis who apparently brought this. I found this bottle abandoned on a table with a good inch in the bottom, just enough for a two ounce pour. God meant for me to try this. Poured a copper color with a small white head and lots of sediment (I got the best part of the bottle, I think). The aroma showed very good fresh fruits and vanilla. The taste is rich with more fresh spicy fruits, particularly apricots and persimmons; also filling in the sides is caramel and biscuit. The mouthfeel is full and malty. The finish long and sweet. Overall: I have a feeling that this bottle was expertly cellared. Wow: Alesmith really must bring this one back!
