Mar 11, 2008 Tap at Alesmith.
Pours nice golden yellow with a small 1 finger head. Smell is light citrus hops, sweet malt and little bit of a fresh lemon. Taste is lively for a pale ale. Citrus hops, lemon sweet caramel malt and little bit of biscuit. Texture was smooth with a light carbonation. Not bad.

Mar 6, 2008 750ml from JW77. Huge bright hoppy aroma. Grapefruit, tangerine, pine sap, biscuity malt. Very bright and fresh aroma. Quite refreshing. Pours bright, slightly hazy gold with a bright, frothy white head. Floral, soapy, citrus zest, pine, tart lemon with a decent biscuit malt backbone. Medium bodied with a slightly waxy texture. Not my favorite style, but a very well done APA for sure.

Mar 2, 2008 22 oz bottle. Poured a hazy medium orange color. Very effervescent right out of the bottle; the head erupted over the glass as I poured it. Too much carbonation. The aroma was pleasant, resembling flower blossom, light fruity candy, and subdued pear. Very bubbly on the tongue at first. This improved to some degree after I let the beer breathe a while. The flavor was hop dominated with flowery, sprucy, and grassy notes. There were also pear and fennel-like notes. Delicately sweet and light bodied with only mild hop bitterness. Good pale.

Feb 23, 2008 Updated: Feb 25, 2008I have American Pale Ale listed as favorite style. Not because I like every one I drink, but because when it hits, it usually is my favorite drinking experience. I like ’em a little thin and quenching, unbalanced toward hops, and preferably a low enough abv that I can drink several if the mood strikes. This fits the bill almost to a T. Really nice, I could drink a bunch of this if I could get it in my area. Thanks to fordest for the trade!

Feb 22, 2008 Delicious APA. I had this a few months ago and just realized I hadn’t rated it yet (I used the back of the piece of paper for something else). Aroma was strong hops- a nice earthy and grassy smell. Pour was a nice deep amber witih a thin off white ring for a head. Taste was almost all grassy hops. There was a hint of caramel malt in and out to balance it out, but this is a hoppy APA. Very nice.

Feb 20, 2008 Another great AleSmith, golden color with huge head that lasts forever and laces almost all of a pint glass, smells of piney hops, citrus and baked biscuits, insanely refreshing, finishes clean with a bit of lingering citrus and malt. Perfect beer for a baseball game, when I’m in charge this will be on tap at evvery park.
