| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 4, 2008 btl. A deep golden pour with a goey whte lace and head. Very citrusy (grapefruit) hop aroma. Semi sweet malt presence as well. Sighthly sweet flavor with a good malt profile that lends to the a very nice bitter that is pleasant and lasts. Excellent mouthfeel medium bodied beer with very good carbonation. Crisp clean drinker that is just fine to me. pepsican (885), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 26, 2008 On tap at The Red in Santa Cruz. I had recently drunk a SN Pale Ale and after quite disliking it, I was interested in Alesmith’s take on the style.
Poured from the tap into a nonic. 1 finger of white head lingers atop the golden body and leaves some decent lacing.
Smells really fresh and floral, with a certain light malt sweetness.
Wow, now this is what a pale ale should taste like! Light and clean caramel/biscuit malt sits in perfect balance with a floral hop edge. This has got the legendary Alesmith balance. Everything melds together blissfully, whereas the SNPA tasted like a pine needle sandwich.
Goes down really smooth, very fine carbonation, appropriately light body.
Sooo easy to drink, great session beer. Good taste and a clean finish. SQNfan (591), Wheaton, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 24, 2008 Light golden in color the beer poured a large head of big bubbles that dissipated. The nose had a mineral edge followed by rock candy, graprefruit and lemon peel. In the mouth the palate is crisp and effervecent that is dry but not very bitter. On the lighter side, this is a refreshing beer that is not very complex or deep. ryan (1780), Beltsville, Maryland, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 23, 2008 Provided by kmweaver. Hazy pale body with a medium-sized fluffy white head. Floral and citrus hop nose with grapefruit and sugary sweet pale malts. The flavor is lightly sweet, moderately bitter with grapefruit, floral/herbal hops, tangerine, cotton candy and a clean yeast profile. Medium body is round with moderate/high carbonation - spritzy. Nice. thenick (746), North Bellmore, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 21, 2008 Tap @ the brewery. Pours a nice golden color with a medium-sized white head. Aroma is pine hops. Taste is the same with a slight malt characteristic. The beer is perfectly balanced, with the hops adding to but not taking away from the overall experience. Great beer.
