I needed something lighter but still tasty, so I pcked up a 22 of X, and I wasn’t dissapointed. Light yellow brew with a thick white head like a belgian blonde (maybe the bottle fermentation?). Sweet citrusy aroma with hints of belgian yeast. Flavor was sweet and hoppy with a clean finish. awell craft, very drinkable, light bodied beer. why aren’t there more of these out there?

golden hazy hue (hefeweizen like) with moderately lasting head. Citrussy and yeasty aroma. very smooth hefeweizen like flavor. A very enjoyable beer, but wasn’t overwhelmed with pleasure.

Cloudy amber wit ha half-inch thick white head. Citrusy hops in the nose, some grains. Hopy flavor with a rich, malty backbone. Nice.

Nice straw like color and great head retention on this one. Sweet and citrusy with a great amount of hoppiness that wasn’t all that overpower. Pretty light, a nicely balanced pale ale.

Bomber, shared with my bud light loving neighbor and good friend. Pours out a mildly hazy straw color with a small, agressively popping head, but decent retention. Aroma is hoppy but not as much as I expected, balanced by semi-sweet malt and citric tang. Palate is very light, brash carbonation fizzies on my tongue. Flavor is very good , in no way unique but thirst quenching and well organized. Tastes of more aggressive piney hops now, malt somewhat removed from the taste by near astringent bitterness, not bad but bordering on excessive. Finishes smooth though, soft and round. Pretty good pale.

22 oz from Liquorama.com. <P> The body is a pale, clear gold and it holds a preposterous hand thick white head that rises straight out of the glass like a volcano forming a pacific islet. If this were a Belgian ale I’d be impressed, but an American Pale Ale? <P> The aroma is light pine and citrus, heavy dry white fruit, kind bud and a bit of sulfur funk. Not starting out great for one of my favorite breweries. <P> First sip, achieved through substantial effort due to the outlandish head, is bitter hops that are very piney. Dry, nice mouthfeel. Lemongrass and herbal notes. The malt component is very reserved consisting of white fruit and white bread. Finish is again bitter and dry.

Bottle given to me by the brewer himself. Thanks Peter! Dark yellow with huge meringue-white head dragging beautiful laces. Incredibly fresh and almost grassy hop aroma with notes of citrus rind, apricot and yeast. Flavor is dominated by hops and to start with it is also dry. As the beer warms, bright and crisp malt flavors are revealed supporting the exorbitant hop profile. On the palate the beer is a bit too fizzy for me, and more like a Belgian ale than a English pale ale (it may be due to extra attenuation from the bottling yeast during 7 weeks it was under way with US Mail). Palate is light as expected by a beer with such modest alcohol strength and dryness. Long bitter and dry finish which lasts for minutes. A wonderfully balanced US pale ale which is extremely refreshing and thirst quenching.

22 oz bomber. I’ve had this a few times, and the bottle in my fridge really wanted to be rated so I said sure. Pours a light straw yellow with a large puffy white head. Nice aroma part hops part malt, a lot of malt scent for a beer this light. Taste is lightly bitter closer to the hoppy side then the malty side. Light citrus notes are noticeable as well. Probably my least favorite Alesmith beer, but then I like em all.
