Commercial Description:
AleSmith X Extra Pale Ale is a clean, light-colored, light-bodied ale. The People's Choice award winner at the 2000 San Diego Real Ale Festival and the second runner-up in 2001, it has a good dose of dry hops balanced by a gentle sweetness, giving an almost sweet-and-sour effect. Appearance: Light golden color, and a nice white head, with good retention when properly served. Flavor: Starts off with almost tingling flavors of citrus and pine, balanced by a nice malty sweetness, then fades to a dry finish with a lingering hoppiness. Aroma: Strong lemony-citrusy character, with sweet malt and pine in the background. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Smooth, light-bodied.

Bottle from Liquid Solutions. Poured a very light golden with a wonderful hop aroma. Taste was a very hoppy/ grapefruitty with a good malt balance. I really enjoyed this beer. Too bad it isn’t more easily obtained.

Honey colored with a white head and floaties. Aroma is strong grapefruit. Flavor is a bit sweet, and tastes like leaves from a tree. Watery and ordinary.

22oz bottle poured a clear gold color with a nice white head. The aroma was more spice and pine hops than citrus with some light caramel malt notes. The taste was balanced with no lingering bitterness and a nice crisp finish. Overall an excellent Extra Pale, but just an ok American Pale.

Nice all around. Pours clear golden yellow with little white head. Aroma is citrus and perfumy hops with some malt sweetness. Flavor is exceptionally balanced. All flavors complement and don’t overpower one another. Nice easy drinker.

This is actually an extra pale ale, so i give it high marks for its full body, strong hops scents and easy to drink finish. Its the perfect beer to share with people who dont know anything bout beer. Youll have a hearty brew and theyll have a crisp refreshing drink. Very well done for its catagory.

Pale amber pour with white head. When you pour it a piney citrus and malt aroma jumps out at you. Flavors of lemon citrus, hops, and a balanced malt flavor. Flavors are not that strong, and the beer is very smooth and drinkable.

Golden body with medium sized white head. Aroma bursts with lemon citrus hops and bready malts. Flavour is citrus with light wood and pine with a nice malt balance. Finishes with light lingering hops.
