| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 3, 2009 In short: A clean, crisp and sharp astringent, grapefruity and floral IPA. Dry and refreshing. Highly drinkable.
How: Bottle 660ml. Consumed very fresh the week I received it from toncatcher. Thanks a lot Dennis
The look: Almost clear blonde body topped by a small white ring of foam
In long: A nose of grapefruit, lemon skin and garden flowers. Malt profile is crisp and dry and I’d describe it as crunched straws. The beer is very crisp, sharp and astringent. On top of that dry crunched straws I found white grapefruits, lemongrass, some crisp honey, flower petals, mouth-drying saltiness. Shares many flavour elements with the AleSmith IPA but this one feels like a watered down AleSmith IPA with added flower petals juice and salt. Unfortunately this mouth-drying salty sensation lowers the drinkability of the beer and even got annoying in the last few sips of my bottle. This is a very crisp and clean beer. Of course it is clean, this is not an AleSmith XXX. theisti (1684), Leawood, Kansas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 1, 2009 22 oz bottle purchased at Chris’ Liquors in San Diego, California. Pour is hazed golden with a nice fluffy one inch white head. Big sticky lacing. Aroma of fresh grapefruit and pine resin, restrained but full. Also, nice toasty caramel malt behind that. Taste is the grapefruit and pine hop, nicely restrained and balanced with the toasty grainy malt. Super balanced palate, medium to thin, nice carbonation level, clean finish, really super drinkable. Nice one. Grovlam (3810), Copenhagen, Denmark
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 22, 2009 bottle. Average fizzy white head that mostly diminished. Fair display of lacework. Golden color. Aroma of peach, citrus, floral, caramel and some fryity notes as well. Medium bodied, average carbonation, dry texture. Moderated bitter and sweet flavor. Dry citrus fruity bitter finish. thefrutigers (100), , Arizona, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 17, 2009 Poured nice clear gold with a nice frotthy Alesmith head. Citrus with a slice piney smell. Very balance flavor with hops bitterness and malt sweetness. Very light and well carbonated. Pale Ales are one of my least favorites... and this was pretty stinking good!

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 17, 2009 Bottle (in NZ), pours a clear gold with a white bubbly head. Citrus and pine in the hoppy nose. Fruity hops on the palate, a good bitterness with the malt doing a good job of coming through in the swallow. The perfect dryness in the finish. A brilliant beer for just 5%. elihapa (1067), Honolulu, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 15, 2009 Bomber. Poured golden in color with a huge, messy head. Aroma has some light citrus, heavy soap, and that distinctive alesmith yeast. Flavor starts with bittersweet fruit, moves towards soapy hops and spice, then ends in toned-down bitterness. Body is clean, and the aftertaste long. Nice offering. I just wish the head was less frothy. DalzAle (508), Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 6, 2009 Bottle. Light hazy golden pour, plenty of carbonation with a citrusy and yeast aroma. Flavor was light and fruity, lemon zest, straw and finished with some nice clean bitterness. Solid session beer that I’ll be trying to get more of!
