Commercial Description:
AleSmith X Extra Pale Ale is a clean, light-colored, light-bodied ale. The People's Choice award winner at the 2000 San Diego Real Ale Festival and the second runner-up in 2001, it has a good dose of dry hops balanced by a gentle sweetness, giving an almost sweet-and-sour effect. Appearance: Light golden color, and a nice white head, with good retention when properly served. Flavor: Starts off with almost tingling flavors of citrus and pine, balanced by a nice malty sweetness, then fades to a dry finish with a lingering hoppiness. Aroma: Strong lemony-citrusy character, with sweet malt and pine in the background. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Smooth, light-bodied.

Pours a translucent golden with some lighter amber notes and a large foamy white head that left tons of sticky lacing down the sides of the glass. Aroma of nice floral and citrusy American hops, light pine, very floral and hoppy. Has a touch of caramel malt in the nose as well. Flavor of pine, grapefruit, orange peel, caramel and some bready malt notes. Really a solid well done American Pale Ale. Excellent representation of the style. Nice hop bitterness.

butter popcorn nose, helles esque, clear straw color, having this on draft at the tap room in Pacific Beach and they poured it for me into a miller lite glass, and it honestly looks like miller lite, clear and filtered clean, thin white head, juicy hop wildness hidden beneath balanced malt flavor, BALANCE, so well balanced, the hop flavor doesnt jump out as overwhelming but its back there, at its fruity, juicy fruit centennial finishing flavor well done, likely the best american pale ale i have ever had

On tap at the Yardhouse in San Diego. Hazy golden orange, big thick white cap. Massive citrus grapefruit and resinous hop aroma and flavour. Medium bodied. Long dry finish. Very nice.

Bottle shared by wolf. Light yellow in color, small head. Aroma of light hops. Taste is sweet pine hops with a very light texture. Clean and crisp. It is like a thined out version of their IPA. Super easy to drink. Probably the best APA out there.****I have had a couple of my own bottles now.... Just an overall great pale ale.....
