| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 4, 2009 22oz bottle poured into a tulip glass. AY(S)IPA pours murky and orange-colored with a large creamy head that leaves nice lacing. The aroma is hoppy and has a touch of purple flower smell. The body was pretty typical of a nice ale with a touch of oil, probably from the high hop content. The taste was all hops. If you’re a hop-head this is a beer for you. Personally, I like IPAs better than IIPAs so this beer was good but a little too bitter for my taste. All in all though, this is another good beer from AleSmith. alexsdad06 (1079), Ohio, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 22, 2009 22 oz. bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange amber color with a large creamy yellowish head that lasts. The aroma quickly diffuses out of the glass and includes citrus, pineapple, herbal hops and sweet caramel malt. The flavor is much the same as the nose: big hop presence with citrus and other fruit, floral, grassy The alcoand a fair amount of bitterness while the thick caramel malt adds balance. Alcohol is there, but not distracting. This is good fresh or with age. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA
