thefrutigers (100), , Arizona, USA Mar 6, 2009 Updated: Mar 28, 200922oz bottle: IPA poured opaque orange with large thick foamy head. Arioma of wine, pine, and citrus. Sweet malty swirl of flavor with a bitter flavorful hops ending (grapefruit, citrus, and awesome). Full body and wow. I am an IPA convert. Seriously! MrRain (415), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA Mar 4, 2009 22oz bottle poured into a tulip glass. AY(S)IPA pours murky and orange-colored with a large creamy head that leaves nice lacing. The aroma is hoppy and has a touch of purple flower smell. The body was pretty typical of a nice ale with a touch of oil, probably from the high hop content. The taste was all hops. If you’re a hop-head this is a beer for you. Personally, I like IPAs better than IIPAs so this beer was good but a little too bitter for my taste. All in all though, this is another good beer from AleSmith. alexsdad06 (1056), Ohio, USA Feb 22, 2009 22 oz. bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange amber color with a large creamy yellowish head that lasts. The aroma quickly diffuses out of the glass and includes citrus, pineapple, herbal hops and sweet caramel malt. The flavor is much the same as the nose: big hop presence with citrus and other fruit, floral, grassy The alcoand a fair amount of bitterness while the thick caramel malt adds balance. Alcohol is there, but not distracting. This is good fresh or with age. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA Feb 17, 2009 Light golden color with a medium sized white head. Aroma is of spices and strong hops. Flavor is very bitter and hoppy with some grass. Rciesla (3500), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Feb 7, 2009 Bottle. Pours an orange body with a light off white head. Loads of hoppiness, citrus, lots of floral notes, sweet malty background. Earthy grassy notes with a sweet and dry grapefruit finish. Awesome brew. 17thfloor (1402), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jan 29, 2009 Ok so not the freshest bottle but it has been in the fridge for 3 months and I did try it twice when I first got it. Pours a hazy golden/orange with a medium rich frothy white head. Very rich aroma, resiny pine, lots of juicy grapefruit, sugared pineapple, lightly floral and a some hop oxidation muddies it up a little, malts smell sweet and sugary. Mmm tasty... I think I actually like it better now than 3 months ago; the hop oxidation isn’t nearly as noticeable and the malts have really smoothed out. Big sugary mouthful with larger but softer big carbonation bubbles. Flavor of mostly toasted sugary pineapple and grapefruit with an accompanying mix of light floral and resiny hops, finishes with a bit of slightly toasted malts, sugary honey, and bitter piney hops. I want a fresh bottle damn it! DSG (1501), Tel Aviv, Israel Jan 18, 2009 (11/2/08) Bottle at Hamilton’s in San Diego. Slightly hazy but almost clear golden color with a big white head. Aroma of hops, some pine needles, cookies and caramel. Sweet malty flavor with some caramel at first and a finish of big hoppy bitterness (almost like chewing on a hop pellet) with a bit of alcohol. Medium to full-bodied Acknud (770), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA Jan 11, 2009 Like walking through a pine forest with the limbs smacking you in the mouth. I don’t know what the description is talking about...It is pure pine. Murky yellow pour with lacing that you have to scrape off with a chisel. Very refreshing.
