Commercial Description:
YuleSmith is a quenching, hoppy "double" IPA. Appearance: Clear copper color and a creamy beige head with good retention. Flavor: Starts out with a bite of hops, but a perfect balance of maltiness and a dry finish leave you thirsting for that next sip. Aroma: The aroma starts with a heady citrusy and floral feel, and a slight overtone of vanilla. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Smooth, medium-bodied. Warm mouthfeel from the high alcohol content. Feels lush and full in the mouth.

Big Thanks to Swolf3 for the bottle

22oz bottle pours a hazy golden with a small but nice looking head that leaves behind some decent lacing. Aromas of hops have faded I think, smells more malty almost like a strong ale rather than a IIPA, kind of weird judging it by color then the aromas. Flavors are still hop strong with pine and citrus coming through with a definite malt presence.

My favorite double IPA. Lots of hops of course. Has the hint of fresh oranges that is so great in double IPAs. Grapefruit and pine. Huge head. Not too sweet.

Summer edition. Was kept at a warm temp 85 Degrees so keep that in mind when I rate the appearance. Appearance: poured a golden orange with a thick frothy head that while disapating turned rocky. Smell: huge citrus and grapefruit notes mixed with some signifigant pine and floral aromas. Taste: huge citrus/ grapefruit hop flavor, on second swill alcohol is very present on the after taste. Palate: good, but rather acidic and alcohol potent on the after taste, definitely an enamel dissolver, but thats what you expect from a solid IPA

Hazy golden, some lingering white head. Citric nose. Strong grapefruit, somewhat sweet aroma. Strongly bitter, slightly boozy, and citric. A little sweet.

[Bottle] Surprise in a trade, thanks Matt! Pours a slightly hazy golden orange with a large beige head. Aroma is loaded with grapefruit, some orange zest, sweet caramelly malt, and a touch of pine. Mouthfeel is nice and not too syrupy and sweet. Hops are very citrusy and the grapefruit stands out the most. Alcohol is only slightly evident. The malt is there, but can’t handle the huge hop load. Significantly bitter, but not overly so. Overall a great, drinkable IIPA

finally tracked one of these down - bomber from John’s Market Place in portland. hazy rust colored pour with a big white head. pine hops, grass and grapefruit aroma. well balanced flavors of sweet bread, citrus, pine and light caramel malts. lively medium texture. would love to try this next to a dreadnought. definitely in that league. Pours cloudy orange with massive head that never dies. Aroma is hops, cirtrus and hints of pine. Flavor is the same plus some maltiness. Mouthfeel is smooth and lush. Outstanding.
