mcbackus (725), Merritt Island, Florida, USA Aug 22, 2008 bottle from tytoanderso: pours a very clean golden colour with a decent sized white head that lingers to a film. arom a is a great citrus hop more tangerine than grapefruit, fresh peach and sweet malts. flavour is a sticky hop plenty of citrus hops and very sweet malt, pretty good beer finishes real nice with plenty of the bitter hops. MrChopin (621), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 22, 2008 Copper with a large, long-lasting white head... lots of soapy lacing. Nose is grapefruit extreme with a little caramel and pine lurking in there. Flavor is bitter and nicely malty with a little more caramel. Salty, medium body that leaves a sticky pine aftertaste. Good IIPA, and I’m not the biggest fan of them. durhambeer (1187), Durham, USA Aug 20, 2008 Still trying to figure out the YuleSmith summer thing. Christmas in July? Bottle shared by JCB (thanks Jason!). Hazy bright golden orange pour with medium white head. This was all hops! Didn’t find it as malty as the description, but no worries--the hops were fresh and tasty. Lots of citrus and a nice bitter waxy finish. Yum. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Aug 20, 2008 @Richmond/Williamsburg Gathering-22 oz bottle-pours a white head and yellow color. Aroma is hope-citrus and pine, hint of malt. Taste is dry hops-citrus and pine/lemon-some bitter, some medium/light malt. Courtesy dkachur. rocbyter (902), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA Aug 18, 2008 Lots o citrus aroma. Hazy dark golden color with a large white head. Mild malt sweetness with a lots of hops building to the start of the finish and the slowly fading off. mmmbeer (737), Austin, Texas, USA Aug 18, 2008 (8-16-08) 22 oz. bottle shared by MaltOMeal-served in shakers- met up with Bill to shoot the breeze, trade, watch the Astros, and he decided to whip this puppy out pregame, wow! Poured slightly cloudy darkened golden orange, thin white head that laced some, hearty aroma of floral hops with pine, caramel, and pineapple in the background. Hits the mouth with a high-medium body, the malt is tremendously awesome, a touch of sweetness in the middle followed by the inevitable hop assault, finish is acidic and slaps you across the face if you think you don’t want another sip. Great brew, and many thanks for sharing!
foundmd (163), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Aug 17, 2008 22oz bottle. Pours golden amber/orange with a thick creamy head. Big balanced hops with citrus and pine. Very reminiscent of AleSmith’s standard IPA, but with slightly bigger flavors. Incredible. Bov (5403), Bienne, Switzerland Aug 14, 2008 courtesy of Per - cloudy orange colour with a persistent beige head; aroma of peach, cream, citrus and quince marmelade, resiney; astringent and full-bodied, deeply bitter, quite dry fruity and flowery aftertaste with a never-ending bitterness and more quince and apricot - what a beer!
