Commercial Description:
YuleSmith is a quenching, hoppy "double" IPA. Appearance: Clear copper color and a creamy beige head with good retention. Flavor: Starts out with a bite of hops, but a perfect balance of maltiness and a dry finish leave you thirsting for that next sip. Aroma: The aroma starts with a heady citrusy and floral feel, and a slight overtone of vanilla. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Smooth, medium-bodied. Warm mouthfeel from the high alcohol content. Feels lush and full in the mouth.

22oz bottle. Pours golden amber/orange with a thick creamy head. Big balanced hops with citrus and pine. Very reminiscent of AleSmith’s standard IPA, but with slightly bigger flavors. Incredible.

courtesy of Per - cloudy orange colour with a persistent beige head; aroma of peach, cream, citrus and quince marmelade, resiney; astringent and full-bodied, deeply bitter, quite dry fruity and flowery aftertaste with a never-ending bitterness and more quince and apricot - what a beer!

2008 Summer Release. Clear dark orange hue with a large craggy white head. Aroma is divine with large swaths of citrus, floral, and light pine hops, cotton candy, and sweet malts. Initial taste is sweet citrus and bitter hops that continue to overpower the malts and spices in the background until the bitter and drying finish. Texture is thick and chewy with lively carbonation that accentuates the sweet hop flavors. A wonderful batch from Peter and crew with excellent balance between sweet and bitter hops.

Thank you very much for sharing this Juart. A clear orange color with almost pinkish hues. A frothy 2-finger off-white head. Nose is sweet cotton candy, tons of citrus, and a flowery hop. The flavor has a lot of powerful bitter components, but the citrus and the floral characters shine brighter than the bitterness. Has a medium body and finishes pretty bitter. I would love to have this again.

22 oz. bomber from Vintage Estates. Pours orange with yell hues and white head. Decent lacing. Big hop nose, bubblegum and Hawaiian punch, citrusy lemon and grapefruit. Taste is surprisingly only moderately bitter with a nice caramel balance. Lots of citrus, pine, bubbblegum and grapefruit hop flavor, dry and resiny. Tasty, tasty IIPA. Yum.

Though this beer had great things about it, I was still hoping for more. The aroma was lovely with hops and lemon. The appearance was perfect of clear golden copper with white head that retains the whole way. Flavor was predominantly hops with hints of malt, yeast and lemon. Palate was great, nice warm mouthfeel, balanced carbonation and slightly bitter aftertaste. Once again, great attributes but was hoping maybe for more complexity.

22 oz. bottle from my Secret Santa. Shared at the 2008 Richmond Summer Gathering in Williamsburg. Orange pour with a medium head. Citrus and pine hop aroma. Big resiny hop taste with citrus and earthy notes. Full bodied.

Thanks so much to kegbear! 22 ounce bomber. Poured into a snifter. THe pour is pretty heady with dark gold with a nice frothy head. The aroma is a nice grapefruit, citrus tang. Very good smelling. The taste is citrusy with a beautiful lingering malty taste. not nearly as hoppy as I had thought it might be. Definitely would buy and or drink again
