DenverLogan (421), MileHi, Colorado, USA Jul 13, 2008 Orange-copper with small head. Spritzy big hoppy beauty with a nice balance of citrus, caramel, pine. Profile reminds me of some nice Green Flash hoppy brews...beautiful West Cost hop monsters. Indulgence (141), Ajo, Arizona, USA Jul 12, 2008 Updated: Aug 16, 200808 version: I had this beer about 2 weeks ago and still think about it today. I have little rate beer experience, but have tried many beers over the years, this beer is at the top of my list of the best beers that I have ever had. I could have rated it a 5, but I’m leaving some possibility that a 5 exists. The aroma is bittersweet, appearance caramelly, head large and incredible and lasting, lacing unbelievable, palate creamy. If one word could describe this beer, it’s BALANCE. blutt59 (2042), Dallas, Texas, USA Jul 11, 2008 bottle, golden orange color, fruity hop nose, grapefruit, citrus flavors with nice medium body and finish that tails off slightly kmeves (1080), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA Jul 10, 2008 Pours a hazy pale orange with a fluffy off-white head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is moderately sweet, grapefruit, pine, pineapple, caramel and mango. Flavor is pineapple, grapefruit, caramel and passion fruit. Medium to full body, sticky texture. Nice long bittery good finish. apshah99 (137), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 9, 2008 Hazy copper in coler with thin off-white head. Gorgeous aroma of heavy alcoholic citrus fruit. Taste is sweet with caramel malt and more orange citrus/dark fruit; ends with very refreshing bitterness. Excellent creamy mouthfeel. This is an excellent beer, although a tad too much on the syrupy/sweet side for my personal taste. SQNfan (591), Wheaton, Illinois, USA Jul 9, 2008 Deep golden in color with a nice head of fine white bubbles. The nose shows off citrus and floral hops along with balancing caramel malt and an herbaceousness (from the hops). In the mouth it is medium-bodied and concentrated with nice balancing sweetness in the mid-palate which gives way to a dry/bitter finish. SCBrew (31), San Clemente, California, USA Jul 9, 2008 Pours deep golden-orange with a nice slightly off-white head. Aroma is mainly hop citrus and floral. Great combination of hops over malt in the flavor. Good carbonation and mouthfeel. Outstanding example of West Coast DIPA. thewolf (5635), Kolding, Denmark Jul 9, 2008 Bottle. [thank you, Dunk]
Pours a light muddy orange amber with a beautiful, staying, off-white head. Fine lacings. Aroma is very hoppy, some clear apricot, grapefruit, pepper and pine. Wonderful creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is vinious, super hoppiness, some biscuity malts and subdued caramel. Lovely, very long, dry, bitter, fruity and hoppy aftertaste. Perhaps a touch too vinious, but still wonderful.
