Moggman (187), Columbus, Ohio, USA Aug 21, 2009 Bottle. Pours golden/amber with large fluffy white head that lingers. Aroma is citrus hops with flowery notes. Flavor is bitter and citrus hops with a slightly sweet yet dry finish. larryLSB (139), La Selva Beach, California, USA Aug 21, 2009 Poured from bomber. Amber gold with medium off white head with nice lingering lacing. Nose was hops, malt and citrus with a hint of vanilla. Tasted as good as the aroma, with a dry finish. wavers1 (110), novato, California, USA Aug 20, 2009 crisp and delightfully refreshing.light yellow pour with a dense creamy white head that becomes porous like a lava rock upon recession. very light floral bouquet with notes of bitter honey. the taste is unbelievably light and the palate is perfect, i could easily drink 3 of these. darkguardian (506), Florida, USA Aug 19, 2009 22oz bottle. Big Citrus nose, straight up west coast IPA style. This is supposed to be a double IPA I guess but it doesn’t have much of a malt backbone. Super bitter and resiny, with some strong piney hops. Slightly cloudy orange color. Very solid beer but I think its a tad overated. MeisterBrew (138), Cheyenne, Wyoming, USA Aug 17, 2009 Bottle. Pours a hazy orange with a large frothy head. Strong citrus aroma, with a good mix of pine and sweet malt. Flavor is very nice and balanced. Nice grapefruit flavor with a sweet malty finish. Very good DIPA. Well worth the purchase. miketd (679), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Aug 16, 2009 Pour is clear bronze with a big head. Aroma is of citrus, pine and sweet malt. Pretty bitter upfront but balanced nicely with a ton of malt. Dry and very refreshng. A touch of alcohol... just enough! sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 9, 2009 courtesy of tampabrew.
pours golden straw, white head.
aroma, lots of nice fruity hops, mostly grapefruit.
flavor, hoppy, with some sweet spices and some lingering malts and caramel.
Beer is just smooth and silky on the palate, not getting too much of the bitterness. TampaBrew (715), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 8, 2009 Pours a light orange. Nose is big fresh grapefruit (reminded me of cutting open a fresh grapefruit and pouring sugar on it), lemon, oranges, floral hops, sweet caramel, light toffee and peaches. Flavor is much the same as the nose. Loads of grapefruit and sweet malt to balance it out. More flavorful than bitter. Amazing offering from Alesmith. I need to get some more of this one.
