Commercial Description:
YuleSmith is a quenching, hoppy "double" IPA. Appearance: Clear copper color and a creamy beige head with good retention. Flavor: Starts out with a bite of hops, but a perfect balance of maltiness and a dry finish leave you thirsting for that next sip. Aroma: The aroma starts with a heady citrusy and floral feel, and a slight overtone of vanilla. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Smooth, medium-bodied. Warm mouthfeel from the high alcohol content. Feels lush and full in the mouth.

Bottle in trade with ClarkVV. Hazy peach with tawny tinge with a bright white head that at first was rocky and left behind sticky lacing. Magnificent aroma of lychees, orange rind, flowers and honey. Very sweet up front mixed with some spice (like the mango chutney I used to get at the local Indian takeaway) followed by a big slug of lasting hoppy bitterness. This beer sings for me - the bags of bold fruit and hops makes it a memorable bottle.

Bottle from Ty5592 from a while back. I drank this thinking it was the Winter one because the wording was the same on the label. Pour was orange and spritzy with strong and crisp floral and citrus hops bursting out. Flavor is rich and true, as every alesmith I’ve ever had has been. Very nice beer that I wish was readily available to me.

Thanks to Naven for the bottle. Pours hazy orange/amber with a medium-- head. Aroma is grassy hops and big caramel malts. Balanced taste, with the spicy and tropical hops showing through a bit more. Not nearly the alcohol presence or warmth of the winter brew (which I rated yesterday). Medium++ body. Smooth texture. Nice finishing bite. A winner, if not an earth-shaker. Rating 7,3,8,4,16 = 3.8.

7/4/07 brand new bottle from WeeHeavySD. Huge head. Fresher is definitely better. Big grapefruit and pine hops overshadow the malt. Bitter and almost astringent finish. Rating above.

Pours out a nice deep amber color with a decent beige head. Aroma is very floral and hoppy. Flavor is a nice intense bitter at first and then mellows out to a sweet citrus clean finish. I love this beer. It left me yearning for more like a horny school girl on a hot summers night.

Cloudy Amber with massive beige head. Oiley hoppy aroma. Hoppy bitter taste. Similar to other west coast imperial IPA’s. Nothing much to distinguish it.

This beer was shared with me by ross. Thanks again man. Ross told me this beer was an 2004 vintage so it was a bit past its prime. The beer pours out a nice orange with a decent head after three years. The aroma is light hops and a hint of citrus. Taste is much more mellow than design due to the age but still some decent hops present. Some malty sweetness comes out with the citrus flavors hitting you at the end. I have to say I enjoyed this one.
