| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 29, 2005 Bottle. this is also leftover from my xmas trip. Incredible. copper body, reddish tinge. Big fluffy off-white head, sheets of lace. Aroma isn’t as pronounced hop-wise as the Ruination tasted right before this, as there is more maltiness apparent. Pine and flower notes. Creamy body. This IIPA has spectacular balance, just enough maltiness to even the loads of piney sticky hops. A little bit more alcohol peaks it’s way through in this one, but it’s very pleasant. long lingering finish. Very impressed with this brewery. jsquire (2107), St. Marys, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 30, 2007 I’ve had two bottles of this recently, one off the shelf and one shared at the Hampton on Dark Lord Day, and both really did not live up to the hype. I seem to be the third in a row. Hazy orange beer with a foamy cream colored head. Hoppy nose with an old toffee sweetness that seem to tended toward Barley Wine. Orange zest in the flavor with melted caramel notes and something metallic. Really reminded me of an aged Barley Wine, and an average one at that. mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 1, 2006 I went in to this expecting a lot & my expectations were exceeded. This was a present from a kind friend who vacationed in San Diego. Poured hazy dark orange / brown with an attractive beige head. Aroma has a TON of grapefruit hops with some pine aspects mixed in. There is also a healthy amount of sweet malt in the background. Full bodied beer with generous soft carbonation. Incredibly well balanced - thick rich caramel malt and piney citrus hops - almost a creamy feel to the taste. Finish get more piney and sharp, but the malt is still evident. One of the best beers I’ve had and easily the best balanced IIPA or IPA I think I’ve had. Excellent beer that I hope to have again. SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA

Beautiful pour, deep copper color and a long lasting creamy head.
Very smooth yet powerful aromas of hops and malt. Citrus, pine, fruit is all here but subdued and well blended.
Smooth mouthfeel and just the right amount of body backed by a well balanced flavor combnation make this a top IIPA. A little less potent than a Ruination and not quite as assertive, but so well done this will surely be a favorite of a lot of folks. I won’t argue the small stuff. A greatI IIPA.
