Commercial Description:
YuleSmith is a quenching, hoppy "double" IPA. Appearance: Clear copper color and a creamy beige head with good retention. Flavor: Starts out with a bite of hops, but a perfect balance of maltiness and a dry finish leave you thirsting for that next sip. Aroma: The aroma starts with a heady citrusy and floral feel, and a slight overtone of vanilla. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Smooth, medium-bodied. Warm mouthfeel from the high alcohol content. Feels lush and full in the mouth.

Hazy orangey-amber colour. Deep orangey hop aroma with pine and earthy amber malts. Very bitter and hugely orangey, piney. Chewy malt backbone helps balance things out.

Bottled as "YuleSmith Holiday Ale" (Vasa session). Hazy orange color, huge off-white head. Strong nose of mango, rye, berries and bread. Bitter, fruity, toffee, malty flavor. There is some cracker maltyness and citrusy notes. Drinkability is nice. Could be more complex and bottle could be more fresh, but overall quite good DIPA.

Thank you so much Tom/After4ever for this treat! It’s warm golden with a huge, nice and creamy head. the aroma has notes of spruce, fruits (citrus and papaya among others). The flavour is smooth with a delicious caramel foundation and a pleasant bitterness wit notes of spruce, fruits, citrus and papaya - it’s very delicious!!

Bottle from 2007. Orange blonde color. Grapefruit, oily hops and red berries in the aroma. Very hoppy, leathery flavor with grapefruit and red berries, lingering on in the aftertaste. Pineapple. Dry out effect in the aftertaste. Fairly well balanced in spite of the huge hop character, and well matured.
