Nov 3, 2007 Ølklubben. Pours a slightly hazy dark yellow with a large, rocky, tanned head. Very sweet and bitter. Havy malt aromas lots of hops. Strong alcohol touch. Grapefruity. Full bodied. Average carbonation. Long bitter finish.

Dec 12, 2004 Thanks to whoever brought this to the Toronto Christmas Party ’04. Sweet hop nose - rich caramel. Tingly tingly hops. Slightly chocolaty, caramel, pepper, lemon. Bitter citrus/grapefruit. Warming finish.

Nov 9, 2006 Updated: Nov 15, 2006Bottle from nolankowal. Light amber body with a large pillowy, off-white head. The aroma is mango, grapefruit, orange and just a touch of caramel. One of the best citrus hop noses I’ve experienced. The flavor is moderately sweet caramel and toffee, bitter orange rind and grapefruit. The caramel sweetness really wears on me as I work my way through this one. Medium/full body with a chewy texture and bitter, dry finish with a touch of tartness.

Sep 18, 2006 Bottle from summer ’06. Deep amber colored and very clear. Huge light beige head that lasts indefinitely and leaves dense sea-foam lacing behind. Big caramelly nose with a pleasant dose of floral and citrus. Full bodied, smooth, easygoing carbonation. Nice blend of malt and hop to start off with, well balanced. Towards the middle and finish the hops kick into overdrive and assert themselves. IBU’s run towards harsh but back off at the last instant. Decently done, pleasant hop monster.

Nov 18, 2006 22 ounce bottle from GrbDg. Pours firey sunset copper with an incredible beige head. Super retention, and lots of resiny lacing. The aroma is dripping of Tropicana, Pine Sol, English toffee. The flavor is retarded. Hops from the tip of my tongue to the bottom of my belly. Strong bitterness with plenty of malt character to keep thinks in balance. Body is on the fuller side. Carbonation seems low due to the richness of the beer. What a beer to drink during the UofM/OSU game.

Oct 8, 2004 Small head, golden color. Full hop aroma. Body is strong and malty. A big hop flavor as you would expect, but I’m not put off by the bitterness. Finish is alcoholic, slightly bitter and a little roasty. Warming. A very approachable and balanced beer. Worthy of its high rating.

Nov 20, 2007 The Dan Journal #136. Tasted 11/19/07. 22oz bomber. First pour is clear with adeep golden honey hue. Huge off-white head. The head holds aromas of light grains with berry and honey undertones. Full bodied and BIG! Lotta action going on. Citrus nuances drift up the nostrils as you sip. Spicy and piney hop flavors. Good amount of alcohol. Noticeable burn. Sticky with lively effervescence. The bottom of the bottle poured activated and sedimented. Clinging head. Good balance but not enough depth. Slightly piney and tart. Good brew.

Feb 9, 2008 This was insanely heavy on the hops, which is a good thing. Im not sure if this is any different at all from the winter version but i did get alot of floral and citrus in the hops.
