Commercial Description:
YuleSmith is a quenching, hoppy "double" IPA. Appearance: Clear copper color and a creamy beige head with good retention. Flavor: Starts out with a bite of hops, but a perfect balance of maltiness and a dry finish leave you thirsting for that next sip. Aroma: The aroma starts with a heady citrusy and floral feel, and a slight overtone of vanilla. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Smooth, medium-bodied. Warm mouthfeel from the high alcohol content. Feels lush and full in the mouth.

Thanks Jeremy for beer #800. Pours a cloudy orange color with a thick, lingering head. Very citrusy, hops aroma. Delightful! Chewy. Smooth hops. Wonderful balance. An absolutely amazing IPA. Alcohol is subtle. Could definitely go for a case of this. Thank you again Jeremy. I owe you for this special treat!

"The pour was very nice, amber in color with nice head and laced well. Aroma was of resinous and citrus and some pine and grapefruits. Flavor was the same with also some bread. Was a good beer, not the best i have had from Alesmith."

Awesome big fluffy head over a orangish amber color. Sweet hops smell. Flavor is a bit too present with the alcohol flavor but really isnt horrible. Malt is there to combine nicely with the hops. My palate may be a bit shot at this point but It just isnt the best DIPA I’ve had.

Hey, this was good. Aroma was powerful with grapefruit, followed secondarily by lemon and lite malt in the background. Poured with a frothy head that lasted for a reasonable amount of time. Great bubbles! Amber. Taste: Strong citrus hops with lite pine underneath. Strong chewy, roasted malts. Some spice and leather. Sweet aftertaste with a nice combo of hops and malt. What struck me most was how strong this beer was yet well balanced with both hops and malt throughout the tasting. Good stuff!

Summer 2005 version. More copper than the usual still wonderful looking. The aroma and falvor are still very simular, thought the hops are bit stronger in the flavor. Still excellent, but I don’t think I’ll change my rating either way. Solid!

Not sure if it had something to do with the time of year or the temperature of the bottle or what, but I fail to fully understand the hype on this one. A really nice aroma of orange and pine, and a generally tasty flavor heavy on the piney hops with some citrus tossed in, but there is a really heavy chalky flavor in the finish which while not spoiling the beer by any means, keeps it from being world class. Maybe I should try another bottle next summer...

What was it that Popeye used to say? "I’ve had all I can stand, I can’t stands no more"! Well that’s how my taste buds and I feel after the few funky fruit beers & weizens I tried tonight. I need these abrasive hops to cleanse my palate of funky fruit flavors! *A big Thank You to Joshpiledean for this brew! A deep orangey color with a tan head. Great cascade hop aroma with grapefruit rinds& pine needles. A salty sweet rich malt flavor with a thick feel and a good bitter hop middle and aftertaste. Alcohol warming in the follow.

Bottled. Pours a light orange color with a frothy white head and some floaties. Big floral nose with orange and pine notes. Flavor is slightly malty with some more pine notes and grassiness.

Amber body, c-hop nose, dense off-white head with good retention. Malty, with toffee notes, balanced with citric, resiny hops; excellent creamy mouthfeel.
