Commercial Description:
YuleSmith is a quenching, hoppy "double" IPA. Appearance: Clear copper color and a creamy beige head with good retention. Flavor: Starts out with a bite of hops, but a perfect balance of maltiness and a dry finish leave you thirsting for that next sip. Aroma: The aroma starts with a heady citrusy and floral feel, and a slight overtone of vanilla. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Smooth, medium-bodied. Warm mouthfeel from the high alcohol content. Feels lush and full in the mouth.

Thanks to Wetherel for this pour. Clear copper with nice thick frothy head. Big hoppy grapefruit nose. Flavor was hops and hops then a few more. Yet the balance to the malt is almost perfect. Mouthfeel is very creamy with just a touch of alcohol burn, this is a great balanced double IPA!

Orangeish red color with a fluffy white head, and a fair amount of lacing. Big hop aroam(pine juice i think) with carmel, malts, and a hint of floral, also alcohol is more evident as it warms up. Piney and floral hops with malt sweetness in the flavor. Lots of bitterness and some sugary notes to even it all out. Clingy, syrupy mouthfeel. Very tasty indeed.

Not much aroma but a ton of head. Quite hoppy. The bitterness dominates pretty much the whole way through, but that’s okay with me. Excellent.

Poured an amber color with a tight, creamy, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, resiny, tobacco, citrus fruits, toffee, and a floral hoppiness. Taste of more pine, with grapefruit bitterness, caramel malts and a bit of alcohol in the finish. Creamy mouthfeel.

I finally found it: an IIPA that I DIG!! Sweet, sweet toffee nose, happy biscuity malt taste followed by mild citric hops. NOT overbalanced. Luscious mouthfeel. Tad mouthpuckering as the hops give a nice clean bite to the aftertaste. This is *gorgeous.* Thank you Eyedrinkale! HAVE I MENTIONED THE GINGERBREAD? GINGERBREAD! Eeee! I love this beer!

This beer was the 2004 summer release Yulesmith. There was big citrus and flowers on the nose w/ hints of pine and raisin sweetness. The pour was golden brown w/ gold highlights. The head was thin and lasting w/ lasting lacing. The flavor was citrusy ( grapefruit and pineapple) w/ hints of pine and a slight fruit sweetness. The mouthfeel was light and carbonated.

Red foil July 4th release. A very special thank you to Sean (DrunkAsASkunk) for this one. I responded to his post about this, and we made an excellent trade. This one broke my Alesmith cherry, and I wish I had been a naughty boy sooner. My first observation was that the bottle, with its blue and white embossed text, looked EXACTLY like the Stone font size, type, and syntax. Is there a secret relationship between Alesmith and Stone that we don’t know about??! The pour was turbid dark straw with a big, creamy white head and lacing. Aroma of fruit, hops, malt. Tastes very hoppy, fruity, with a slightly dry, yeasty, hoppy finish. Very rich, with a firm, bold mouthfeel. This one was excellent.
