Great citric aroma with up front hoppiness in the flavor with a nicely balanced malty finish. beerguy101 (3953), Newark, California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jul 31, 2008 This IPA pours a medium orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma is piney and grapefruity hops with some sweet malts. A medium bodied India Pale Ale. The malts are caramel, bready and sweet. The hops are citrusy, piney and grapefruity. Lots of hop flavors balanced by the sweet malt backbone. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Very intense hop flavors. A touch dry at the finish. Nice beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is bitter. pantani (1902), Salinas, California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 19, 2006 Body is a dark amber, with a thin off white head. Aroma is a heavy dose of northerwestern hops, along with caramel. Taste is a nice hop balance along the caramel, alcohol, and a bit of numbness. mkgrenwel (420), Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA

Lots of orange, some grapefruit. Bitterness balances, but monster sweetness is dominant. A little light on flavor in the finish. Piney hops with everything else. The bitterness is showing up a bit more as I drink. This is probably up there with Pliny. Everything an IIPA should be. Maybe just wanting in some complexity.

Awesome brew. chimney (9), cleveland, Ohio, USA does not count | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | May 29, 2006 poured a nice clear dark amber brown (yes, almost dark copper) with a wonderful, not overly large, rocky/frothy head that was a nice yellow orange. the aroma had a good moderate hoppyness to it with a slight scent of appricot. the flavor started with a very light sweet and bitter flavor and then developed to a slightly acidic and moderate bitter with a very mild grapefruit citrus hint. on the palate it tasted like it should be light, but felt slightly heavier and maltier than expected all while maintaining the refreshingness. over all it’s a very good beer that shouldn’t be seasonal and shouldn’t be as hard to find in my area as it is JB175 (1664), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA

Big floral-citrus sweet aroma with a nice fresh-batch-O-hop aroma that is thick and enticing. Taste is a really nice floral-citrus mix of hops with just a bit of quality malt that makes it quite enjoyable. Wonderfully hoppy is the best way to describe it. hapjydeuce (773), Del Mar, California, USA

Deep golden color, and a head that was produced upon pouring that nearly exploded out of my glass, very pillowy, vanilla colored. Great floral aroma of pine, grapefruit, butterscotch and tons o’ hops. Sweet and syrupy caramel is in the initial flavor, fading into spicier, earthy tones that finishes with nice hops bitterness. Lots of citrus nose in this one. Crisp finish, with long-lasting flavor. One of my favorite summertime IPA’s. Great!
