| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Oct 8, 2004 Small head, golden color. Full hop aroma. Body is strong and malty. A big hop flavor as you would expect, but I’m not put off by the bitterness. Finish is alcoholic, slightly bitter and a little roasty. Warming. A very approachable and balanced beer. Worthy of its high rating. Suttree (2748), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 1, 2004 Cloudy Copper, with a big white head. Spicy, peppery, woodsy aroma, with just a hint of medicinal smell. Big citrus flavor - Grapefruit, of course, but also some lemon and lime. Hints of smoke and salt. Very dry, but also incredibly smooth. The malt presence is incredibly subtle in the flavor, but is felt in the palate and aftertaste, if that makes any sense. Some resiny flavors in the finish. Really, really impressive. Thanks to Drunkasaskunk for this one! goldtwins (4086), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 27, 2004 Summer batch. Poured a hazy amber with a medium white head. Aroma has a good size nose to it . It is piney more than the usual grapefruit which makes for a welcome change. There still is some citrus and a little peach as well. Flavor has some lightly sweet malt with good flavor and bittering hops in the middle and end. Medium bodied and nicely balanced. Makes for a nice and easy to drink beer. Warming sensation are noticable. marchcow (664), Coralville, Iowa, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 30, 2007 bottle- thanks Jason- a nice summer treat with that familiar alesmith ipa smell, citrus, pine. I was surprised how well balanced this beer was, and was expecting far more hop bitterness and flavor. wasn’t there. Still, nice, somewhat creamy mouthfeel, and an earthy malt flavor make this a great choice. jmikolich (405), Athens, Ohio, USA
