Commercial Description:
During the summer, YuleSmith is transformed into a big, hoppy, Double IPA. The enormous load of hops requires a substantial malt background to create just the right balance for a Double IPA. Lighter in color, summer YuleSmith is available around the 4th of July and is packaged in a red, white, and blue bottle. For the winter season, YuleSmith is brewed as an Imperial Red Ale. This version is maltier, more balanced, and darker in color than the summer version. Although quite malty, big hop flavors and aromas are abundant making this an unforgettable winter warmer. Winter YuleSmith is packaged in traditional holiday red and green. Original Gravity Alcohol by Volume 1.085 9.5%

The best beer I’ve had to date. My bottle was aged one year.Has a hazy, dark-amber appearance. Aroma is extra malty with a little bit of hops. Taste is full of hops and malts, so much so that the dry, smooth finish comes as a surprise. This is not overbearing just sensational.

Bottle, as Yulesmith Holiday Ale, at RBNAG 2009 in Vatlandsvåg. Deep orange to amber colour, low head. Aroma of American caramel malts and American hops, notes of caramellized orange marmalade. Rich mouthfeel. Flavour of oak, caramel malts, dried figs, American hops.

( 22oz bottle thanks to ericandersnavy) Pours clear dark orange with no head. Nose of sweet caramel, chlorine and faded hops. Taste is syrupy but nicely so, undercarbonated and bittersweet hops. I hear great things about Alesmith but this one didn’t live up to the hype for me.

Had this out of a bottle aged one year. Has a dark brown color. Aroma is of hops, pine, and a milky kind of undertone. Taste is full of hops, dried fruit, and malts. Has a nice and smooth hoppy aftertaste. Great stuff!

Bomber. Nice looking beer - deep reddish-brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is dark caramel and spicy hops in the background. Flavor is brownsugar and stone fruit malts with a really nice spicy bitterness at the end that ties it off. "Fat TIre on Steroids" was the predominant description when shared with the family. Just a warming hint of booze @ the end. Well done.

From a bottle poured a ruby colro with a very small head. Nice hoppy flavor with a lingering aftertaste.
