Commercial Description:
During the summer, YuleSmith is transformed into a big, hoppy, Double IPA. The enormous load of hops requires a substantial malt background to create just the right balance for a Double IPA. Lighter in color, summer YuleSmith is available around the 4th of July and is packaged in a red, white, and blue bottle. For the winter season, YuleSmith is brewed as an Imperial Red Ale. This version is maltier, more balanced, and darker in color than the summer version. Although quite malty, big hop flavors and aromas are abundant making this an unforgettable winter warmer. Winter YuleSmith is packaged in traditional holiday red and green. Original Gravity Alcohol by Volume 1.085 9.5%

22 oz. bottle courtesy of agl108. My bottle says 8.5% ABV. A hazy amber pour with tons of little floaties and a big and fluffy sandy head. BIG aroma features plenty of resiny pine, grapefruits, rich caramel, and roasty malts. Some cherries and rye in the background too. Goes down fairly thick and medium to full-bodied. Lots of caramel, malts, and some hints of rye upfront. Finishes with some bitter, drying grapefruitiness. Warming alcohol at the end. Heavy spiciness throughout. God bless that agl108!

this great imperial red ale pours a an inch tan head. Its aroma is fantastic musky and sweet at the same time. A great winter ale makes you want to curl up next to a fire. Warm in your mouth this beer has a hoppy opening with a winter-spice aftertaste

Pours cloudy golden amber with a big fluffy head that stays around for an eternity. possibly the prettiest head ever. crazy. nose is basement musk, with a solid doss of pine resins, citrus, and malty breadyness. taste is very similiar, reminds me of my dads batch 8. it is definitely a glorious beer.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber-brown with a thick off-white head and a lot of lacing. Bitter, hoppy aroma, with malt, citrus, and dark fruits. Big taste, bitter and sweet, with malt, hops, pine, grass, and dark fruits. Lingering bitterness and a hint of sweetness. So tasty.

A very tasty imperial red on draft at Pizza Port San Clemente. Nice strength and body with the right balance of flavors and a nice blend of hops!

quite an enjoyable and highly appropriate brew for the holidays and for that matter the winter. full of flavor and balanced yet strong enough to take away the winter chills, or at least make them tolerable. described by the brewer in the best of terms and highly desireable to hop heads and christmas brew lovers everywhere. just great!
